  1. If we lose the division by one game I’ll remember Morel missing a game tying HR by 2 feet edit: oh wait I thought that was the 9th. Well if we lose I’ll remember that
  2. Dammit. He didn’t go but it was extremely close so I’m not that upset about the call
  3. Does Wisdom actually have options? I was working under the assumption that he did not.
  4. Dammit, missed a tie game by 2 feet. At least it got a run in
  5. horsefeathers are you serious! Missed a HR by a foot
  6. horsefeathers chipping away, lets make it 6-4 right here. And then get 6 more runs so we can only be down a couple after Stroman pitches the 4th.
  7. Season ERA now 3.85 for Stroman ERA over the last 7 starts is now 9.00 Runs allowed in those 7 starts: 6, 5, 4, 1, 5, 7, 6
  8. ERA over his last 7 starts: 8.47 Stroman is tanking his performance so that he's forced to pick up his option for next year. THATS how much he wants to be a Cub
  9. 3 straight hitters Stroman gets to 2 strikes on and they end up with a hit. Not putting these guys away
  10. Votto could be hitting 0-250 for the season and I’d assume he’s going to mash the Cubs. Certified Cub killer
  11. Cuas has reverse splits this year, seems to do better vs LHP Side conversation but does it seem like there are a lot more reverse splits hitters/pitchers than there have been in the past? Maybe I’m just noticing it more but seems like I see it a lot
  12. Damn, dude is good enough, doesn’t need an extra 4 inches of strike zone
  13. Wow optioned to AAA? Figured he’d be someone they’d have in the majors right away
  14. Edit: Fudge, I was beaten, do what you want with this. I know this is already being talked about in the deadline thread but figured a seperate topic since its a transaction the Cubs made. I'll miss you Nelson, thanks for that grand slam against Seattle.
  15. Rucker is already in Iowa. I don’t know about Fulmer, they seem to like him and he’s largely fixed many of his early season issues, though control is a concern. I would guess someone like Kay, Assad or Palencia. Brad Boxberger (remember him?) has already resumed throwing and will take up another roster spot, but not sure how far away he is.
  16. I think I read that the Cubs were like $5m under the luxury tax. Candelario has a contract for $5m. Does that put them over, or are we only looking at adding 2 months worth of $5m for lux tax purposes?
  17. I mentioned this in the other thread but Candelario's 3.1 fWAR this year would be second on the Cubs (position players and pitchers). While historically he hasn't been anything special defensively, for whatever reason this year he's grading highly. Good move and low cost.
  18. I'm guessing the Cubs don't want to eat $7 million next year by getting rid of Mancini, and hope he can bounce back next season but who knows. He's not exactly making a compelling case right now.
  19. Yeah, it would probably be Amaya sadly. Don't think they're completely ready to give up on Wisdom yet, doubt they'd just cut Tauchman loose either, Mancini (and Barnhart - another name) are signed through next season, and Madrigal has been hitting well enough to stay on the roster. I wouldn't be shocked if it was Wisdom though. Certainly acquiring another 3B makes his roster spot tenuous
