    Why are you guys happy with his numbers. You thought Corey was bad, Murtons OBP is actually TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY POINTS LOWER then his BA! With numbers that bad, I don't see how he can retain a spot in the bigs :lol: ;)

    Well Jim Hendry certainly succeeded in taking the heat off the losing streak in my personal book, because I haven't been excited for a game in a few weeks like I am tonight. It almost doesn't feel like we are on a lifeless 8 game losing streak

    A positive Corey thread? And all it took was a humiliating trip to the minors. Well anyways, good luck Corey. I may not be your biggest fan, but I am also very fickle if you know what I mean :). Go out there and mash the ball, but only if you've worked the count and waited for your pitch.

    Other then the difficulty of getting rid of Wood given his contract and having Jerry for a full year at CF, I think thats a sound start. I agree with what you said about the type of manager this club needs. We got Dusty to turn lemons into lemonade. Now we have talent and don't know how to use it properly.

    The sad thing is that you are probably right. Yes, but the "vote of confidence" is usually a death knell for most managers. With the Cubs, it will probably actually BE a "vote of confidence." Well he's already gotten one this year and lived to talk about it

    Prior is good, even the best fall down sometimes. Wood was better in 2003, injuries and changes in mechanics have led to him failing to reach his lofty expectations. Fluke? No....but extremely lucky? Yes. Play that season 100 times, we make the playoffs maybe 25 times, we make it to the NLCS 10 times, we play game 7 3 times I wasn't trying to say Prior's not good. I know he's good. I was just saying maybe he's not as good as what we saw in 2003. After the 2003 season there wasn't 1 person in baseball I would have traded Prior straight up for. Now there are many people I would trade him for. Including several pithcers. Really? Care to make a list Maybe I'm stubborn but there still isn't any player except maybe Pujols (ignoring salary) that I would trade Prior for.
