  1. Koronka with the win, 4-1 3.65 ERA for him this year.
  2. Koronka with another solid performance, on ESPN. 6 IP 2 Runs, Rangers up 6-2
  3. Bynum is out of options, and can play more positions then Theriot. Not sure if we will DFA him...Restovich is possible.
  4. Yeah, I saw that. Who is going down? I love how the Trib article starts talking about needing to add speed to the offense.
  5. I looked at every thread in Baseball Discussions and Minor Leagues from May 5th on to make sure this wasn't posted. If I missed a thread on the topic, I'm sorry. This story is about Matt Clanton and his time with the Cubs. The bitter former first round pick rips the Cubs and accuses them of ripping apart his self esteem basically. The article does finally admit that Clanton is a headcase, but as we all know there's usually a little bit of truth to every lie. http://cubs.scout.com/2/527823.html
  6. I believe he is on track to make his first start on the 17th. Unless the Cubs skip someone on the offday, and Z is first up the game after, the 17th is Marshall's start, and the 18th is Guzman's. I'm assuming they want to keep Wood on his 5 day schedule and pitch him on his regular day May 17th, and push Marshall back a day until May 18. Either way, NSBB day will be fun
  7. I hope Z gives up the HR, then gets pissed off at all the celebration, and then hits the next batter on purpose. Just because it would be entertaining.
  8. Wait, Kerry Wood still plays for the Cubs? Man this is like 1998 all over again!
  9. Cubs were toiling around .500 this time in 2004 and they still managed to win 89 games. Heck the Cubs were 3-4 games over .500 in August of 2003 and still won 88. So its possible. The only difference: This team sucks, and those didn't as much
  10. Heh, I guess my sarcasm doesn't show up as well on the internet ;)
  11. Is it true that this start will offically put him at more rehab starts then major league starts over the past 3 years?
  12. Who is with me? Who else watches games half hoping that the Cubs don't score because you know they aren't anywhere close to a respectable team, so you might as well cheer for them to not score so you can calculate ridiculous futility statistics. Who else just doesn't care anymore?
  13. most specifically, the 3rd, 17th, 33rd, 34th, 38th-44th, 51st, 54th, and 64th-73rd. though the 21st one kinda made me mad. i have to admit, however, i rather liked the 49th. Ahh yes, the 49th was a beaut. I couldn't believe he managed to connect with that pitchout and send it hurtling towards the second baseman
  14. Pierre groundball to third! No, I'm just kidding, to second.
  15. Damn you mean we have to score ANOTHER run to win now? Geez, what are you trying to make this offense do???
  16. #$%#($%#(#($(!!!!! JINXED IT...good work. I swear that rule is rock solid, I've seen so many no hitters end within 2 outs of people mentioning it
  17. Zambrano Prior Marshall Wood Maddux SU: Miller SU: Howry SU: Eyre CL: Dempster WE INTERRUPT THIS POST TO MAKE A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: A RUN??!?!!?!!!!! A RUN~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Wasn't 91 the year we got shut out like 4 games in a row? No, you're thinking of 2006 after tomorrow's game. April 25 - May 1, 1992
  19. I also noticed in that game that both sides are actively engaging in the practice of scoring runs. That's a pretty sweet sight.
  20. Hmmm.... I have 3 in 57 innings: 11 innings, 0 runs Friday (L, 1-0) 9 innings, 0 runs Thursday (L, 6-0) 9 innings, 1 run Wednesday (L, 8-1) 9 innings, 0 runs Tuesday (L, I forgot - 0) 9 innings, 2 runs Monday (W, 2-1) 9 innings, 0 runs Sunday (L, 9-0) 1 inning, 0 runs on Saturday (scored 0 runs in the 9th, L, 16-2) Thats an average of 1 run ever 19 innings, 1 run every 2 games and 1 inning. Plus we haven't hit a HR in 7 games. Wow
