Dear sports gods, I despise Brett Favre more than anything in the world. I despise the Vikings more than any football team besides the Packers. Since the Bears made the Super Bowl my favorite memory in football is watching Favre choke the NFC title game away in 2007. Now I'm a Michigan and DePaul basketball fan, my baseball team hasn't won the title in 102 years or been in the championship round in 65 years and I have watched 2 teams I despise as much as the Packers and Vikings win World Series and have their fans laugh in my face about it. Without getting even more long winded, I think you know what I'm getting out here. Give me a damn break. umfan83 P.S. Also, Katrina. Don't forget.

Wait, the Blackhawks get blown out on the road, while the Bulls win back to back road games against 2 Western Conference playoff contenders? Holy crap.

Unless the Hawks can get 2 goals in the last 1:25, the Hawks will no longer have the best goal differential in NHL. Washington will be +52 and the Hawks +50. San Jose is at +49 after the 2nd period of their game tonight, and will be 4 points ahead of the Hawks for 1st in the West. The Hawks slump, and the Sharks just never stop winning, blah.

That's like what the Braves had to do in 1996 and what the Cubs and Sox would have done if Chicago won the Olympics. Imagine how chaotic it would have been with both the Cubs and Sox out of town for 3 weeks. Usually when the Cubs are home the Sox are away and vice versa.

these dumb articles always come out before big games. but why don't they go down the rest of the factors? of course there's more to do in nyc. but new york is also overcrowded, traffic-ridden and overpriced . the colts play in a nice stadium and the jets play in a dump in the middle of a toxic wasteland. the jets' coach is a morbidly obese loudmouth and the colts' coach is a classy, effective leader. so really... F the jets. The Jets have played their last game at Giants Stadium. and have played zero games in new giants stadium... so there we are. So we agree that you comment about playing in a dump was dumb. Good. It's still in the middle of a toxic wasteland.

I'm fairly certain this was mostly a Crane Kenney move. Ricketts is still in charge and gets the final say. I'm sure he had something to do with the descision making. yeah but Naples came into play before ricketts even took over. I'm sure he had some say before that but I gotta believe this was mostly Kenneys work

I agree....in this era of globalization it's easily possible for someone to get tons of pub no matter where they are playing. I'd admit that players in smaller markets do still have a moderately difficult time getting noticed at first, but once they get that initial hype about them, they aren't at much of a disadvantage to those in NY. There is a slight advantage but not enough to join a shitty team in order to take advantage.

???? they've been attacking and controlling the puck all game. the flames have had a few good pushes but they havent lasted long. hawks should be up like 5-1 right now I'm talking since about 7 minutes left in the game, we take the puck in their zone, and dump it into our zone whenever challenged. I'm just saying I'm used to the Hawks in these situations pushing hard for the third goal to put the game out of reach. they only did that for like 3 minutes, and that was when calgary was pushing hard Exactly, it happened and I wasn't used to seeing it. It was much longer than 3 minutes though. Since your challenging all my posts (and that's fine), to respond to your other comment, I kinda missed most of the first 2 periods, but I was aware they were dominiating the play. It wasn't pretty, it was a game we grinded out, despite not converting on a lot of our chances. Our game winning goal was a deflection off a skate...it was one of those kind of games.

SWEET. Hawks win. Feels like it's been awhile since we scored an empty netter, but I might be missing one recently. I love whenever we score an empty netter Foley always says "Hawks win" even when theres like a minute left ha. Not the prettiest of wins, but it's a good road win over a playoff bound team.

Huh? What history do the Knicks have on a handful of other NBA teams? A .498 winning percentage Tied with the Hawks for 5th for most playoff appearances 10th in Division championships with 8. 2 NBA titles, less than the Pistons, Warriors, 76ers, Bulls, Spurs, Celtics, and Lakers Yeah but John Starks dunked over Jordan once.

He's given us "hints", but I don't think they mean he's definitely going to New York. He just wants people to keep talking about him and he enjoys throwing hints out there because of that. I've seen him say things that were pro-returning to Cleveland as well, though not as much as the pro-New York statements.

I'm a bulls fans and by no means is our team dominant but the regular season is pretty boring for me too. The only thing to be decided is whether well have a 0.7% chance of John Wall or get swept in Round 1 (unless we draw you guys and Garnett is out again)

Blah, with the Hawks lost yesterday and the Sharks blowout win, the Hawks drop to #2 in the Western Conference, falling 2 points behind SJ with the same number of games played. BTW, the Sharks are on fire I guess. Won their last 2 games by a combined score of 14-2 (9-1 and 5-1)

Man the Bulls are completely unwatchable on the road.

There was no way Michigan was going to win @ Wisconsin, but it's maddening to see them lose a close game seeing as every loss makes it less and less likely Michigan can make a miraculous run to the tourney.

The only chance the Cubs had to sign Sheets was probably to guarantee him 2 years at a reasonable amount before he threw for people. Now that he threw somewhat well from the sounds of things, his market has blossomed it seems. It would have been a huge gamble to guarantee him 2 years, but that was probably the only chance. -

He really is hard to kill off. He is the minor league version of Chad Fox. What year did he start to dominate Spring Training and win a place in the hearts of this board? It was either 04 or 05. Feels like such a long time ago. -

Improving since...November? Trust me we should all be scared anytime JH is said to be negotiating with a MR. I am willing to bet the deal isn't any less than 2 years $6 million in both years and amount. -
Can't win them all. The Hawks alternate between looking like the greatest team ever and then playing decently but with mistakes. I think even the best teams do that..it's a long season. I still think we'll go 5-3 on the trip.

Huet is so bad. I saw that wrap around coming from a mile away. I was shocked when Huet was still at the right side of the goal after the puck went in. Really bad goal allowed for Huet. Does he even see the puck out there?
