  1. andi was CubsFaninSTL or something like that. But I think imb is making a joke, as anyone who was on the board in late 2004 knows that Controversey was Tree's boo. I was there in person when the sparks were flying.
  2. I would be stunned if he was a Cub. We have 3 second baseman on the roster already, and all have more upside than whatever Castillo could give us offensively and defensively. The only reason he would become a Cub is if Jim Hendry's fetish for collecting broken down second basemen returned.
  3. Maybe Prior can make the Single-A All-Star team
  4. Oh....yeah the one that worked for the Cardinals and was obviously on this board to pick up guys. How could I forget her?
  5. Don't you remember tree's girlfriend that he treated like crap and forced off the board forever? Controversey was her name. that was andi, you idiot who?
  6. In the shocker to end all shockers, Phoenix and Dallas was decided in a shootout. How does this happen every single time? At least this time Dallas is the team with 1 point. They are now 3 points behind the Hawks with 1 game in hand on us.
  7. Make that one 5-on-5 goal in the last 168 minutes for the Hawks, as they are shut out tonight.
  8. And of course Nashville is beating Vancouver 1-0 after 2 periods. Gotta cheer for Edmonton (over LA) and Phoenix (over Dallas) tonight. Might as well give Phoenix and Dallas a point each already.
  9. This team is just so inconsistent. One night they look like world beaters the next mediocre. That said, there were a number of factors at play against the Hawks tonight. -2nd of a back to back when the first game was a hard fought overtime road win over their arch rivals -Road game (hawks have worst road record of the 8 playoff teams -No Sharp and Bolland against a great defensive team and a stingy goalie. That said I would have loved to get a point. Hawks just 4-4-2 since their 8 game winning streak finished. Not the way to make a playoff push. That's 10 of 20 possible points. Not going to cut it. Hawks have scored just one 5-on-5 goal in their last 158 minutes of hockey.
  10. Hawks offense sputtering. Hurting from missing Bolly and Sharp. Need one or both of them back. Only 1 goal in the last ~83 mins of action and 0 5 on 5 goals since...Anaheim?
  11. Well at least we got 2 points last night. Bruins are mostly dominating the game (something like 27-15 SOG advantage for Boston). With their D and the penetrable Thomas in net, looks like 0 points from this one. Prove me wrong...
  12. Hawks scoreless after 1 in Boston. Action was up and down the ice. Hawks continue to extend Boston offensive possessions by failing to clear the puck. I have to watch other teams more specifically, but it feels like the Hawks constantly make idiotic decisions with the puck inside the opponents offensive zone. I have no idea why they can't clear the puck when they have possession and space in front of them.
  13. Yes. Yea that's kinda weird. I don't think it makes you a bad Cubs fan, but people really need to drop this notion that their intentionall fielding mediocre teams, and the only way that we as fans can knock some sense into them is with tough love and stop going to the games. That's not my belief though. I just want them to drop the ticket prices. I respect whatever price they charge for tickets, but for my own personal greed, I'd like to not have to pay $80 for bleacher seats to some games.
  14. Pierce is acceptable. He used to be my favorite star in the NBA and that 01-02 Celtics squad that battled wife beating Jason Kidd was one of my favorite non-Bulls team ever. I even went to 4 playoff games that year. And then something called Kevin Garnett came along and all the sudden Pierce turned into the wheelchair toting fool he is today.
  15. Thats perfectly fine. People were dying to turn on Sammy anyways.
  16. Am I a bad Cubs fan that I almost want to see noticeably empty rows of seats during opening day? I am thinking every radio station in Chicago will be holding contests giving away tickets to Fridays game the next couple of days.
  17. No, they haven't. For a guy who handles the ball as much as him, it's very good. He has a better turnover ratio than both Wade and LeBron, even with his high usage rate (2nd in the NBA behind Kobe, who only turns it over slightly less). I have high expectations, mainly because it seems like he has more "dumb" turnovers than those guys. Are you mocking the type of arguments that you normally feast on?
  18. Don't you remember tree's girlfriend that he treated like crap and forced off the board forever? Controversey was her name.
  19. ? Because of the TOs? He's had a solid game other than that. Free throw shooting is absolutely killing us. Yeah if you don't count his 22 turnovers, dude [expletive] owned it Agreed. 10 TOs is inexcusible and cannot be considered a good game because of that. That said, being a top 15 (out of 64) PG in TO rate is nothing to sneeze at, so I'm willing to overlook a stinker like this. BTW, 64/64 in TO rate for PGs.....Chris Duhon.
  20. 8/20= 40% /nitpicky
  21. Ugh....we just can't get over that 4-8 point hump. Time is starting to become a factor.
  22. I want 2 points tomorrow, but I will not at all be mad if we only get 1.
  23. THATS A BLACKHAWKS WINNER AND 2 POINTS!!!!!!
  24. Phew, a point. Detroit definitely outplayed us that period, so I'll definitely take the point. Lets win it in OT!
