    Small victories would be 1) don't allow a run in the first inning 2) get a lead off hitter on 3) get a lead, any lead!!

    Also I just want to point out that I'd much rather watch the Cubs try to keep their season alive down 0-3 than be counting the days until the Winter Meetings. The sun came up today, its gonna be 78 degrees, and the Cubs have an NLCS game at Wrigley tonight. Not much better than that.

    Any scouting reports on Matz? The CSN guy said he has sick stuff, but his numbers other than ERA (with admittedly a very small sample size) are rather mediocre. I'd go with this lineup but I know it won't happen Fowler, CF Schwarber, C Rizzo, 1B Bryant, 3B Soler, RF Castro, 2B Jackson, LF Hammel, P Baez, SS You could make an argument for moving around Rizzo and Bryant or whatever, but it doesn't matter imo because if they don't hit regardless of where they are in the order we aren't winning much.

    Too bad we've never had a 4 game winning streak with all games against the mets i'm not sure I understand exactly what you're saying but I was being sarcastic. they swept the mets, as you know, 7-0 in the regular season - including a 4 game sweep. i was just kidding around and trying to be optimistic. I know, I was going with it, not taking you seriously. Sorry I should have made that more clear

    Will be exciting when Rose doesn't see 2 basketballs out there. Plus Dunleavy might not even play this year. And the (hated by some) Blackhawks are a black cloud of Kane/rape and now a fairly significant injury to Keith.

    It doesn't feel right that immediately after the best thing ever happens we fall flat on our faces. Maybe I should save this for the fatalism thread but it's like even the highs in our history are immediately followed by lows.

    Mets almost had as many hits today as we have all series.

    How many called 3rd strikes did we take in this game? It's probably an absurdly low number that makes me feel stupid. Sure seems like a lot though and many were good pitches

    Haha every defensive chance handled flawlessly. Meanwhile Bryant is booting routine grounders, hits into the shift get by guys, Montero can't keep a ball in front of him at possibly the most critical moment of the season, Javy has no range, etc

    Sucks that we just cannot get any base runners. All year we've come back in games by getting guys on and getting rallies going.

    Was thinking the same thing, may try and buy some if I can get something decent for $200 or less Interested in 2 in Section 313 Row 7 for $200/each? Some guy on Craigslist is probably venting but offering bleacher seats for $50 each
