  1. I don't necessarily think that last year's 1st round pick should play into this year's decision. The goal is to make your team better in the long term and if he's the best player out there, and the concerns that his injury will take away from his talent are minimal, i'm fine with drafting him.
  2. lmao that BA's worst case scenario for the Cubs is **shudders** a wild card spot instead of the division.
  3. Yeah its its unlikely that the Hawks will be so exposed that they basically are running out 5 defensemen and 8 minutes of Kimmo's corpse in the playoffs. And even if they do, they managed to win the Cup doing that last year. The issue is that if any of Keith, Hammer or Seabrook goes down, we're in trouble.
  4. Only 4 projected starters in that lineup and it would probably still be good enough to make the playoffs.
  5. I'm putting Iowa on my bubble, try and stop me
  6. So the Bulls would be in the lottery if the season ended today. The Heat shot a franchise record 68% tonight lol
  7. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/7/71/1364100/2013-comeback-detroit-forged-blackhawks-fire Fun article revisiting the comeback against the Wings. Still get chills remembering the 3rd period of game 6 against the Wings and of course Seabs goal
  8. Leicester City are not going to do it are they? Seem to be running out of steam a tiny bit.
  9. Caris Levert officially out for the rest of the season, and thus his college career at Michigan He was able to play in just 8 of 39 conference games over the last 2 seasons (minimum with 1 BTT game this year), finishing 6 of them. What a damn shame.
  10. Yeah it sucks because I thought our 2 biggest issues heading into the deadline were blue line depth and 1st line wing. We definitely got the wing, and fortified our 3rd line, which if Sunday's game is any indication will make Tuevo a lot more effective. But yeah blue line depth is a hole still. God forbid Keith or Hammer goes down (and Seabrook although he's having a down year defensively). But like Stan said, there are a lot of young defensive players on the Hawks/Rockford. If we find one halfway decent guy out of that group, I think the Hawks can live with what they have, especially if Crawford keeps up his mostly stellar season.
  11. It's funny for most teams, one of the major stories heading into the season would be the anticipation for Russells second year. With this team Addison is almost an afterthought.
  12. Geez, what a douche
  13. My antecdotal rebuttal:. Warriors beat them by 30 in their only meeting. Crappy Bulls beat the Spurs, got blown out twice against Warriors. Indisputable evidence. In all seriousness its the results but its also just the type of basketball they play when I watch them. It doesn't look like the same sport as what the Bulls play. It means dick but the bulls didn't really get blown out the first game vs the warriors. what was the final margin of victory? 12-14 points?
  14. They're only 3.5 games ahead of the Spurs (who also have a better scoring margin).
  15. I wonder how many wins FG would project for the 2015 NL All Star team if they replaced the Cubs as a team.
  16. Man, that's going to throw things way off this year. I'm sure the committee will take into account the Illini's variety of injuries, suspensions and dismissals and gift them an at-large bid.
  17. Yeah I prefer how the MLB and NFL align over regional conferences like the NHL and NBA
  18. If Iowa somehow loses against Indiana and Michigan...high level compare their resume w Michigans Iowa - 20-10 (11-7) Top 50 wins over Wichita St, MSU, Purdue, @ MSU, @ Purdue Michigan - 21-10 (11-7) Top 50 wins over Texas, Maryland, Purdue, Iowa Iowa's resume is still better, but it's a lot closer than you'd think (and of course this is presuming 2 more losses for Iowa which is still a big stretch)
  19. Please keep it going next weekend. Michigan needs to win that so badly
  20. So even up until last season I would always see fans of opposing teams (except like Stl and Det) say things like "the Hawks are so damn good but they are hard to hate". With the 3rd Cup, one of our 2 best players being investigated for rape, combined with the the team still being a cup favorite, salary cap be dammed, I see a breaking point hit and now whenever I read an opposing blog or Twitter all I see is people saying how much they hate the Hawks. Other than the Kane situation which is still rough for me to reconcile, I completely embrace the hatred and love that we are the team other fans dream at night about beating.
  21. For sure
  22. This has been an entertaining game so far. For "4 cups in 7 years" sake I'd rather see someone shittier but for pure entertainment sake a Caps/Hawks SCF would be awesome.
  23. The Warriors and especially Curry are not playing the same sport as the rest of the league. Watching part of the Bulls game tonight and this is like watching a high school game and then a pro game.
