  1. Holy crap Busch robbed of either a grand slam or 3 run double.
  2. Speculation from Jesse but certainly doesn't sound great:
  3. Ok yeah this move makes sense now
  4. I think it worked out fine for the Giants. They got a goodish KB, won the division and 107 games, and didn’t have to give up anyone of value (based on how things have gone to this point). But yeah for the Cubs and Rockies it was not great. Outside of PCA (a notable exception) the whole tear down of the contender Cubs didn’t work out too well for the us. Though I guess getting a potential all-star caliber player for 1/2 seasons of 4 guys they weren’t going to re-sign isn’t the worst thing in the world. And if we’re including the Darvish trade maybe Caissie. edit: I’m a moron and forgot about Alcantara
  5. I’m glad you said something because it probably would have taken me months to figure out who this new guy is and where 1908 went. 😂
  6. On the plus side, if we don’t come back this will be only our second loss since domestic opening day where our pen didn’t blow a 4+ run lead.
  7. Not necessarily Shota specifically because he's a stud and will be fine but I am definitely not too confident in our starting pitching as a whole.
  8. Wonderful AB by Busch after starting out down 0-2. Thought for sure that was going to end in a K.
  9. Fun fact: Mahle has started more games against the Cubs in his career than any other team in baseball. Another fun fact: Seiya just hit a triple.
  10. Wind supposedly blowing out heavily to LF. Not ideal for a Shota start but hopefully he can pitch around it and the Cubs hitters can take advantage.
  11. Eh not like Hodge got rocked either time. Last time he gave up a walk and a single. This time he gave up a bloop single and a fly ball that’s an out in any other ballpark in baseball but at Wrigley became an RBI triple. I mean he probably shouldn’t be your most trusted reliever and walks are going to be an issue most likely but he’s fine as a late inning setup guy imo
  12. I just did the math, the Cubs opponents for the first 29 games added up have a combined record of 73-37 and that includes 2 series against uncharacteristically mediocre Arizona. Thats a .664 winning % and 108 win pace. Somehow we’re 9-5 halfway through that stretch, leading the majors in RD and should probably be 10-4 or 11-3. Good stuff.
  13. He’s out but they’ll call him safe edit: or not!
  14. Nice PCA! Good work getting hung up so the second run scored too
  15. That was a very tough pitch that had like 2 pixels clip the strike zone, I’ll give him a pass there
  16. Nice job Swanson! 7 more to Presley proof this one
  17. Damn, that almost got far enough away from the fielder for Happ to score
  18. Not a shocker to walk Tucker to get to Berti lol
  19. That was a really good pitch but protect the plate Seiya
  20. Kelly’s GIDP when he was 1 ball from bases loaded 1 out was hit 106.6 MPH with a .490 xBA. Weeeee this is fun
  21. Well we’ve made it to the 8th with the lead which means we either win the game or I get to add another tally to my new and improved “losses when leading in the 8th inning or later” tracker.
  22. Also kind of sucks that Seiya didn’t score on that 2 out double. And that Swanson’s fly out with the bases loaded was hit 104.5 MPH and had a xBA of .850
