  1. He erased a lot of his good will with me when he tried to erase the face of a well-liked teammate with his fists.
  2. How one scouts Love aside, I think if Love does wind up the 12th best QB in the league (that's a huge if), its OBVIOUSLY worth it, and not even close. Put aside that the player you would have gotten instead of Love could bust, the number of wins that a 12th-best-QB-in-the-league is worth compared to literally any other position, elite talent or not, is not comparable. That said, Love is definitely a boom-bust prospect. His closest comp is Mahomes. His chances of being as good are obviously low, but that's his ceiling. Rodgers isn't a bad guy. I think he has a right to be fairly PO'd at the Packers front office over the years (the comment about no first round offensive skill picks during Rodgers' tenure until now is telling) but he's well aware of the Farve-Rodgers / Rodgers-Love parallels, and I'm all but certain he's going to attempt to have a good relationship with the guy. The main reason that the Farve-Rodgers relationship soured was that Rodgers and the Packers knew that Rodgers was better than Farve, and Farve was Farve. Love isn't going to be better than Rodgers within the next few years. Now, if the Packers don't grab at least a few WRs with their next 4 picks, Rodgers is probably going to get vocal about his displeasure, and things might get ugly.
  3. On the topic of least favorite Cubs, I was looking for the one where Jeff Fassero played the role of Brooks from Shawshank Redemption, but I couldn't find it. Instead, you get these two: https://web.archive.org/web/20110912023921/http://dugout.progressiveboink.com/archive/jon27.html https://web.archive.org/web/20120414230734/http://dugout.progressiveboink.com/archive/dugout5-7-06.htm
  4. This is lame. Happ ruining our "he kills people for fun" trope by exposing himself as a nice normal cool guy. Pretty brave of Nico and company to take the invite!
  5. I very, very nearly put Jim Bullinger on my list as a joke, no kidding. I had a lot of baseball cards of him, for whatever reason.
  6. 1. Dawson 2. Javy 3. Geovany Soto 4. ARam 5. Hendricks
  7. https://sports.yahoo.com/coronavirus-djokovic-opposed-vaccines-could-023342604.html
  8. Happ beat Hader 5-0. All is right with the world.
  9. Ok, so back to chess, since we had talked about how awesome/horrible a high profile online chess tournament would be. i give you, the Magnus Carlsen Invitation! https://chess24.com/en/read/news/magnus-carlsen-invitational-line-up-revealed
  10. In case anyone needed more of a reason to dislike the Cowboys: https://www.tmz.com/2020/04/11/dak-prescott-home-dinner-party-ezekiel-elliott-coronavirus-stay-at-home-texas/
  11. I don't even play the game, and I might be more excited about this than the Cactus League development.
  12. Cubs have a new catching prospect https://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=29003145
  13. Waiting 4 days after any posts and wishing for a "derailment."
  14. That would be an interesting read......if I had an 80" TV to look at it on Too Small Didn't Read: Additional paragraphs added after the vote took place reduce benefits to retired, disabled players and families.
  15. Find me a regular shirt that he would fit into
  16. Does he have to wear a wife-beater though?
  17. We're using Chess Time, which I'd never heard of before. I play on chess.com and lichess, most of the time. Limehouse on lichess and Limehouse2 on chess.com. Cubbieblue66 on lichess. I just pulled your profile and holy hell are you better than me. I just started learning last year. Lessons are always free. I'm a bit of a speed chess slob and I play bullsh1t openings to drag actually good players into murky waters. If you are wanting to get into it, "My System" by Nimzowitch is the nuts. Get it.
  18. Try getting drunk with a friend and playing. Winner has to chug. It equalizes skill levels pretty quickly. One of my coworker's husband is a national master, and we play whenever we hang out together. Peer pressure and wine bottles have definitely tilted the overall results closer to even than they would be otherwise. He tries to get my daughters to distract me, but having them move the pieces for me is actually a pretty good "last check" mechanism.
  19. There's a decent chance I'm in one of those .5%. We should play. Regular show is at least a good 500 points below me, but it was a good game. I had a big advantage after 3 moves...but I might have been losing at one point toward the end of the middle game. And as far as doing online chess at the top level...just live stream it over a board with spectators at both locations. No easier or harder to cheat like that than it is in person. Die hards will b1tch about not being face to face but they can cry in their stale beers.
  20. We're using Chess Time, which I'd never heard of before. I play on chess.com and lichess, most of the time. Limehouse on lichess and Limehouse2 on chess.com.
  21. Draw offer and resignation 5 moves later? :nono: Worth a shot at least. I didn't want to extend the game for no reason. Btw, the chess app has a chat feature. I seriously doubt anyone cares about the events of our games... I saw you were messaging me, but when I tried to read what you said, it took me to an ad for a profit University, and I still can't find the chats. (This app is trash) Apart from your third move, you definitely punched above your weight class that game. I'm not bad at this chess thingy.
  22. Gambling on a 4th round QB in the draft or trading that pick for an established starter in Foles. I'll take the Foles trade. It's not that Foles is terrible, it's just that he had a bad contract and most importantly, no trade market and yet the Bears likely bid against themselves and lost. It was a buyer's market and they still managed to overpay. ...how much is a 4th round pick really worth?
  23. Cut him some slack. He's down a pawn in the end game. It's a close game lol. Draw offer and resignation 5 moves later? :nono:
