  1. I could see making the argument that Moose should be moved soon if you think he'll be exposed and the Royals could get something big for him right now. I don't see the argument that they NEED to move him though. His first full year wasn't too bad, and he should get better. He did have a 3.5 fWAR, looked very impressive defensively, and is making the league minimum. Yeah, he's a good piece to use for a TOR guy, but don't think there is anything wrong with the Royals also deciding to hold onto him.
  2. Are you talking about Wil Myers? If so.... LOL. The Royals are listening to offers for Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas, Alex Gordon, Billy Butler, and even Wil Myers. The Rays, meanwhile, are listening on James Shields and Jeremy Hellickson. Read more at http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/#7hdojkHe1Z8rQ1U9.99 lol indeed I follow the Royals almost as closely as I do the Cubs. There would be a riot if that trade took place. It'd be a very hard sell on Myers or Moose for Samardzija/Barney/Russell. But both? You are drinking the funny juice.
  3. That's probably it. Has to be.
  4. Stupid question, but if a guy has 10/5 rights and he is placed on waivers and a team claims him, can he refuse to go?
  5. I agree with Kyle that I'm not exactly in love with the plan. And the loss of Cespedes is upsetting. But yeah, they've done a hell of a job of doing what they set out to do.
  6. He had some great moments. I hope he kills it wherever he goes next.
  7. Figure this goes more here than in transactions. Per Roto: I bet I can guess which member of the coaching staff loves Pierre. Bet you can too!
  8. Don't really see why those fans should be kicked out. Most of us seem to think it was a HR so why should they get in trouble for thinking the same thing? Doesn't matter what they thought. Fan interference is fan interference. I guess I just disagree with it in this circumstance. Not on balls that bounce over third and are called fair and a guy leans over and picks it up as it bounces past, those I'd agree with. Same with the Jeter homer back in the day. This one, eh, I don't think the guy's arm was more than a foot past the fence, and he wasn't leaning over the wall with his arm dangling down way bellow the yellow line. I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying, just saying I think the punishment might be a bit harsh in this scenario. Can't rule it on a case-by-case basis. Reach in the field of play, you're thrown out of the park (or at least out of your seat). True. It's one of those things would require common sense, and the people that got kicked out for good reasons would be upset and the lawsuits would then come.
  9. Pretty sure it is. Don't really see why those fans should be kicked out. Most of us seem to think it was a HR so why should they get in trouble for thinking the same thing? 11. Luckily we've been able to see what that looks like this year.
  12. from what i can tell, fredi gonzalez was his manager for 12 starts in 1997-98 and then dempster played on the marlins when gonzalez was the third base coach. that hardly seems like a situation that would lead to them being BFFs. FRIENDSHIP DECLARED INELIGIBLE. I lol'd.
  13. I think it's fine to say that he has earned that right to stay. But the fans that have been around a lot longer than Dempster have the right to be upset if he screws us out of several years of what could be a pretty good pitcher.
  14. Per Roto: ESPN's Jayson Stark was told by a source that the status of the Ryan Dempster-to-Braves deal should be resolved "shortly." Edit: Beat again!
  15. Having watched a lot of his games on the Royals: HELL NO! Stay far, far, far away. The guy is terrible. Don't think I could take him being on my two favorite teams in the same year.
  16. 2003. Had been a big Cubs fan since the early '90s (7 years old), but never really looked for any forums about them. Did that when we went to the playoffs in '03 and realized pretty quickly that my previous assumptions about baseball were wrong. I now hate stolen bases and sac. bunts. My dad thinks I'm an idiot.
  17. Really? You don't understand how injuries work? You think he was "drummed out" of baseball instead? Yeah, there was a conspiracy to not sign Todd Walker...good call. Sigh, there seem to be more and more of posts like these every week. This site used to have a much greater level of civility. It's sad how many snarky remarks or just unveiled insults I see on this site these days. I know, I know, if I don't like it don't come here right? Don't mind him. He might be mean in his posts, but he has a heart of gold deep down. It's his way of saying "research your facts before you post."
  18. I continue to miss Walker to this day.
  19. I don't know what is going on with this thread. I'm going to leave now. :hello:
  20. If you mean "1%" as in the Occupy Wall Street sense, they don't sit around and do nothing. They do most things in this country and pay the bills. If you meant the 1% that play professional baseball, nevermind. Yes, we are all talking about Prior's former career as wealthy Wall Street executive. Nice political rant having to do with nothing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Just so Lefty doesn't get bashed for nothing, it was TT that brought up the 1% and doing nothing. Lefty probably should have left it alone, but it's not like he's the one that brought it into the discussion.
  21. It's a nice story, but what FA is going to start dismissing possible suitors at this point. I would expect Hamels to be like 99% of the other FAs and go to whatever team gives him the most money. And half the board will consider it a bad contract that they are happy to stay away from.
  22. He basically means that you don't trade a guy like Soto when his value is at his lowest. And it's early in the season. He probably meant one of those two things.
