Only way for Counsell to stop using him as closer is to DFA him. And the Cubs don’t have to pay his player option (not sure how that works). -

The pitching is fine. The Guardians were gifted 3 runs by the ump. The Cubs are nearly top third in pitching and defense. It’s the hitting that has hurt them the most.
