  1. yeah, that 80.8 passer rating is insane True, but that throw to Rice was great. You couldn't place it any better.
  2. Do you think it is a foregone conclusion that LeBron is going to take a max contract instead of just getting a really big one and going to a place where he can win (Miami?)?
  3. I think I'm 2-6 too, but I like your picks and I also like your score predictions.
  4. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-17-cubs-brite-chicago-jan17,0,1790453.story The project will be called "Wrigley 20-14" and include construction projects during the season so the Cubs can use it "for another 100 years," according to President Crane Kenney. The focal point of the massive restructuring will be the long-talked-about "triangle building" to the west, a project that will include knocking down the outer wall on the third-base side to form a large open-air courtyard that would include concession areas and shops. In the end, all of the concourse will be widened and include expanded restrooms, some of which will be completed for this season. It also means construction will be ongoing during the 2011 and 2012 seasons. This was talked about before, but now it looks to be very close to becoming a reality.
  5. Soto looks great after the eyebrow waxing.
  6. I want him to be completely honest. He obviously isn't. You want to just forgive the guy and put the whole mess behind you, but then he tries to make excuses for himself.
  7. Kiffin can recruit though. He was building a program in TN before this all went down.
  8. Living in Atlanta and hearing about Paul Johnson this year, he really seems to be different. I don't think he wants to go anywhere and I actually believe him. But money talks. Yeah, he'd be a longshot, but I really think highly of Johnson's ability to coach. Totally agree. Fabulous coach who tells it like it is, but doesn't seem to alienate anyone in the process.

  10. What are Bird rights?
  11. Ellis is All-Star quality. Injuries have kept him down. Baron Davis was never an All-Star?
  12. I'm concerned Tyrus is one of those guys who you trade and then he wakes up and becomes a good player. But you have to trade him for him to get the message, so he'll continue to be inconsistent with the Bulls. Argh. Just like Cedric Benson (except that he wasn't traded). It's true that the Bulls haven't had an All-Star since the Jordan years right?
  13. And they've still thoroughly outperformed the Cubs during the Hendry era. And won a World Series.
  14. That is load of bad over-the-hill baseball players. Add Rios to that mix and Williams has made some terrible moves in the last 6 months. But you still have to give the guy credit for pulling the trigger on a number of good moves, especially around 2005. Garcia, Contreras, El Duke, bringing up Jenks, trading McCarthy, and trading Rowand. Kenny is not the kind of guy who just sits around. He is willing to wheel and deal.
  15. The statement that McGwire released was the right approach. The live interview with Costas was absolutely wrong headed. He blamed the MLB for not doing steroid testing because that enabled him to shoot up. That's Mark McGwire - still not taking responsibility for himself. He is right in that steroids don't give you hand-eye coordination. But they give you strength and power and McGwire knows it. Dan Bernstein made a good point today. McGwire said that he took steroids to help him recover from injuries. But the steroids contributed to his injuries in the first place and he had to know that. McGwire is either dumb or lying. Maybe both. I haven't seen the whole interview, but Costas has been one of the most outspoken opponents of steroids. Did he press McGwire at all or was he afraid of a 250, I mean at present 200 pound man crying his lying eyes out?
  16. Bobby Knight is about as bad. He said that since Gatorade enhances performance, baseball players should be able to use equine steroids.
  17. That and saying he had to do steroids because that was the 'era' is going to piss off the HOF voters still. If he came out to try to save his HOF chances, it might just add fuel to the fire.
  18. Absolutely He definitely is. He has been blessed with unbelievable talent around him, but two MVPs, a bunch of Super Bowl appearances, and he holds a number of the top passing records in the playoffs.
  19. Bad enough to have a spot for Ben Wallace on their roster.
  20. I was going to say that but you beat me to it. Maddux is definitely the type of great player who you could see becoming a great GM or manager but great players don't seem to do well in those roles. I just don't think they can relate to a majority of players because it was always so easy for them. Jordan would be a great example. Greatest player ever IMO but can't evaluate talent worth a lick. Jerry West is the only great player that could really evaluate talent that I can think of.
  21. Why was he not in a position to come out when he was before Congress?
  22. I guess Jim forgot about the rule that says never hire someone who could take your job
  23. You try running behind Olin Kreutz. You try running when you have little or no desire to do so. I still think Benson was never going to work out in Chicago, even behind a good line. Actually, he had a decent line with the Bears. He needed a wakeup call - being perilously close to never playing in the NFL again.
  24. How ND fans put up with his horrible broadcasting is beyond me. This is truly terrible broadcasting. Gibbs makes Theisman sound decent.
  25. My picks: Bengals, Cowboys, Patriots, Cardinals With the spread: Bengals, Eagles, Patriots, Cardinals
