  1. They aren't even close to Cleveland and Orlando.
  2. Stern gave Ewing to the Knicks and Rose to the Bulls.
  3. Does anyone know why the shot clocks were on the floor?
  4. If I remember correctly, the defense was the group that hated him the most.
  5. I don't think I normally would care. Professional sports in 2009 has a much high level of fraternization than it used to. That is just the way it is. But the defense used to hate him when Cedric was there, how much more now that he is on the other team? Plus they were getting gashed by him all day.
  6. So we should keep Lovie because he refuses to adjust his scheme to fit his personnel? That is a great reason to keep a coach. Who changes a scheme in the middle of the year? Plus, it is not like they are in Cover-2 the entire game. Maybe 50% of the time. His personnel stinks no matter what scheme. You work on a scheme all during training camp. If you change your primary scheme at this level, you will get burned all the more. The Bears need to play better IN the scheme. That is why they practice all week.
  7. I think today's loss was just a bump in the road. They will be a .500 team at the end of the year and they are right there now. Lovie and his staff have had one of the best records since he started as head coach. And they have had far worse talent than the other teams around them. Is Lovie a great coach? No. But he has had one of the best records with just barely above average talent. I would like to see what he can do with good talent. He had two good years in 05 and 06. Since then the team has been mediocre, going 7-9, 9-7, and now 3-3. He is a mediocre coach. Now, I highly doubt he will be gone before his contract is up in 2011, but don't act like he is anything more then what he is, and don't get all high and mighty just because fans want a great coach, especially when Shanahan and company are available. The talent Lovie is given is worse than Lovie's coaching ability. And? That doesn't mean that we should be satisfied with Lovie. Fine. But there are bigger problems to fix and they should be fixed first. Lovie used to have a great defense. The scheme is the same. Lovie is the same. The players aren't.
  8. The Bears are a terrible blitzing team. They tend to get plugged up at the line. The defensive line has to play better. Tommie Harris is the key to this Cover-2 since he can/used to be able to put pressure on the QB enabling the ends to get single covered. Since he hasn't been himself and was injured today, nothing much can be done.

  10. I think Benson has more talent than Forte. But with the way this offensive line is playing, it wouldn't matter much. Forte got a lot of work last year, much more than he was used to. I wouldn't be surprised if that has something to do with his lack of production. I think Michael Turner is going through the same thing.

  12. Quit being so dense. Dense is saying that the Bears need to change their scheme after one bad game. No one does this. dense is pretending that people on this board are just now calling for a change in the coaching staff. dude i rarely even go in bears threads and i know a lot of the posters here want a change. Were they calling for one when they were 3-1? With the players the Bears have, they are only 8-8 or 9-7. The coaching staff can't get any more than that out of them. The Bears need new players more than a new staff.

  14. Ced got a raw deal? He didn't show much of anything on the field at the end and had problems with the law. No one regretted getting rid of him. Cedric needed to sit on his couch and realize he was about to be out of the NFL and his career was over. That was the only thing that would have given him the wherewithal to put his talent to use.
  15. seriously, stop trolling Seriously, it is a valid point because of the ridiculous overreaction on this board. No matter who coaches the team, with a bad offensive line and a slow inexperienced defensive backfield in addition to a lack of a pass rush today, the Bears were bound to lose.
  16. Jesus Christ, you act like we've been getting an amazing pass rush and pass coverage all year. The Bears had been good at rushing the passer, at least through the first four games. I never said the Bears were good. What I did say that this overreaction is childish. The defense is better than this.
  17. OB and Doug are both going to be laid to rest today.
  18. Buddy Ryan should have been immediately fired after that Monday night game in '85 by the way.
  19. A troll? I am just defending against unnecessary reactionary meatball fans. Every team has a stinker game and the coaching staff should not be fired after one stinker game. Plus Lovie doesn't have much talent to work with right now. Should he be fired because Urlacher is hurt, Pisa is hurt, Tommie has been just a shadow of his former self? That is out of his control. He has been one of the most successful coaches in recent memory. Dusty Baker was successful also...... Good teams don't get embarrassed 38-3. Have the Bengals even punted this game? Where are the adjustments? And the offense has been consistently bad forever, running the same bad plays. Keep blaming the offensive line and the personnel if you want. I blame the coach. The Bears aren't a good team. They are a borderline playoff team. 8-8 or 7-9 with the defensive injuries and lack of offensive talent. The Giants lost last week. They are good. The Saints are losing. They are good. It happens to everyone. I just can't believe that anyone would want to fire a coach because of one bad game with the injuries the defense has right now.

  22. The trade for Champ Bailey and Jared Allen scheme. No scheme change can help. Cover-2 is a bend but don't break scheme. There is nothing that can help when the scheme is already designed to account for average to bad corners.
  23. You change defensive systems by firing the coach who won't adjust to his players. Meatball. The defensive has bad players. No system can fix that. To make ridiculous coaching changes with Urlacher, Pisa, and Tommie hurt is the epitomy of buffoonery.
  24. Fire the Saints staff, what have they done lately. Meatballs... You're not very smart, are you Read two pages back and then think about your post. No, I already knew you weren't very smart What's your problem? Two teams are both having bad days, but their coaching staffs arenot the problem and they don't deserve to be fired. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a meatball. And you can't change defensive systems now.
