Between Marshall's quote on Monday and this, your inability to understand the English language is startling. Then help me out. Don't bother posting if you aren't going to make a point. I still read Jay as being jealous of all the attention Josh is getting and trying to point out that he is not as good as his stats suggest.

He had two bad passes. You can't hold Marshall and get in a position to make an interception and then say that was a bad throw. But yeah he had two bad passes. And his idiot play against Minnesota that cost us the game. Lets not forget that. Because that was as dumb a decision as you'll ever see. Was that not a "mistake", but a clever ploy to get Kyle Long a reception? Nor his inability to throw a TD in the red zone unless his receiver has nobody within 5 yards of him. And yet, when Cutler has good passes bobbled by Earl Bennett or deflected on a fluke and picked off, it's his fault. Not saying McCown hasn't made bad throws. He has. But overall outplayed Jay. Trestman's FG decision, Robbie's missed FG, defense not stopping the Vikings on 4th and long, and missed throws by McCown were all factors. Robbie's missed FG to me most important play that game.

This is sarcasm, right? How would you interpret Jay's comments?

Cutler: "Josh played really good last game, but he's made his mistakes too and throws he would like to have back." The man can't stop himself. So jealous that he hasn't been close to McCown's production.

Who has outplayed Cutler this year by a wide margin Not really, plus he's faced [expletive] defenses and he's an older backup QB. I don't get this "hot hand" crap at all; the guy hasn't been able to stick as a starter for a reason, and the odds of him keeping up this success can't be too good, especially if they make the playoffs. His "hot hand" could easily implode in less than a single game. I would think what the offense can do and has done would make wanting the better QB coming back all the more appealing instead of thinking, "nah, let's not rock the boat with this whole QB who was out of football a little while ago thing." Who cares that he's an older backup right now. What has he done lately in this system with this coach and with these players. He has a better rating by 20 points on Culter. Interception % 6 times less. Throws for more yards per game and yards per attempt. And has a better win/loss record. So, yes McCown has destroyed Cutler stat wise. Sure Josh's hot hand could cool off and Cutler could lay an egg. But I think we have a much better idea of what McCown will do (and it's pretty darn good), but we don't really know how Jay will do coming off the injury. I said earlier if you can keep the playbook in tact and Jay can make all the throws he made earlier in the year, play Jay Sunday which the Bears will do. But you really can't say that Cutler hasn't been outplayed because he absolutely has. You would have to say that in spite of the stats start Jay.

If it's game 2 of the season I understand. But this is a must win game and you have to react quickly. On the other hand maybe the organization thinks evaluating Jay is more important that an improbable playoff run. If you pull a rusty Cutler and McCown leads the Bears to a win, I can't see Trestman going back to Cutler.

I want Jay to lead the team to the playoffs. Obviously best case scenario. But what if Jay looks a little hurt or really rusty and you are down 17-3 at halftime? Should Trestman put McCown in?

Not wanting to check down? Just bad football decisions. Thinking you can force the big play because you have a canon. what about being able to make a throw because you have a cannon? moral or immoral, you choose. Marshall said Jay is the smartest guy in the room, but I think knowing when you can and can't throw a bullet into a tight spot is Jay's biggest weakness. Maybe he knows defenses, but I wonder if he knows himself. If Jay fixes that he can be a top 5ish QB.

Boers and Bernstein said that the analytics all point to Jay starting over McCown. What analytics are in Jay's favor this year? Scoring on the road I thought is the only one. Important stat, but not the only one.

Actually a lot of interceptions happen because QBs have their favorites and they throw them the ball whether they are open or not. Call it weird morality reasons or trust in a certain guy or thinking you can get the receiver open, but it happens.

Marshall demanded a ton of throws from Jay. No surprise Alshon has thrived under McCown. Anyone have % of targets from Cutler to Alshon and McCown to Alshon?

Jay Cutler would much rather be in Denver or Chicago than Cleveland or Minnesota don't you think? Jay's personality and trying to write checks his arms and his receiver's openness can't cash is what makes this decision a little harder than it should. If he wants to be here and win, take $15 million a year and any feelings of sorriness will disappear.

I want Cutler back, but do you want to be the Ravens, Cowboys, Giants and soon the Saints who are cap screwed and have good but not great teams due to overpaying? I understand doing that to pay a transcendent player, but I don't know if Cutler is. His injury is making things too difficult. Gotta franchise him. All in with Peanut on a one year deal and keep Peppers for one more go around. See what Cutler is for a full year.

When asked about Alshon's progress Marshall said he gets open because I'm doubled, came to my off-season camp where I helped him, and I hope to get some one-on-one's now so I can make more plays. He turned the question back to himself. I don't hate Marshall - he's fantastic. But he's a diva. When the Bears were 3-0, what did Marshall do? Complained he wasn't getting enough balls. He isn't happy unless the Bears win and he has the spotlight.

Basically said Alshon is getting balls because I'm a stud. But Alshon is getting double coverage more and more. Just seems that any time someone asks Marshall about Alshon, Brandon gives himself props. A true diva, but glad to have him.

Marshall voicing strong support for Cutler as soon as he's ready. Didn't really give too much props to Alshon. You know Marshall wants the spotlight. Said "Put Cutler in a room with any player in the NFL and he's the smartest one." OK...
