  1. Only if he plays great the rest of the way out, the Bears win out, they make the playoffs, and they win two playoff games. Only Sid Luckman in 1945 and MCown’s hot stretch in 2013 are only better seasons for QB rating.
  2. What are the Bears' playoff chances now? 25%? The Football Aftershow debated which situation you would rather be in: the Bears with a defense, a run game, but no QB or the Texans with a good LT and a great QB but don't have their first and second round picks next year. The Aftershow said the Bears, but I don't see how you can say that. You can't win without a good QB and the Bears don't have one.
  3. I also read somewhere that Floyd had 26 pressures last yeah and Quinn only has 7 this year. Yeesh Floyd had all the time in the world to perform in Chicago, but having Donald next to him doesn’t hurt
  4. There's a ton of young talent. That's one reason why I don't think Tiger is breaking Jack's major record. I'm a golf nut and I watch a ton of it. I like all of these young studs. Unfortunately I don't see any of them really being a superstar that brings extra eyeballs to pro golf.
  5. Would you want Pat Fitzgerald as coach? I think the Bears need an offensive coach.
  6. Some are saying that Len should have waited for Pat to retire then take the Cubs radio job. I don't see Pat leaving anytime soon, but there's no reason why Len can't go do what he wants to do now with Sox radio and then come back to the Cubs when that job opens up.
  7. 2020 is the absolute worst
  8. Could always come back to the Cubs when Pat retires. Speaking of Pat, there’s no chance he wants the TV job? Don’t know if he’d be a good fit there, but if it’s him or Chris Myers. My goodness if Myers gets the job...
  9. Sorry I don’t buy it. Maybe that’s something he wants to do but I don’t see the logic of making that jump randomly like this Len’s contract ended in 2019, right? What kind of an extension did he sign?
  10. Really the only thing that makes this makes sense as a career move and not a I've got to get the horsefeathers out of here move, is if he's got a side national job lined up and Marquee said no to him being off for Saturdays or something. If he enjoys radio and wants to call playoff games, maybe that’s more important to Len than moving up the TV food chain. I could see him as the type that just wants to do what makes him happy, not what makes him the most money. What’s a radio broadcaster get compared to TV? Half or less than half?
  11. How many good broadcasters go from TV to radio? DJ did, but I thought he was forced out and I don’t consider him good anyway. Nice job, Marquee. What a fiasco.
  12. I really liked Len at the beginning and up until a few years ago. I thought Len and JD got a little stale the last few years. Not a bad broadcast, but not a great one. Len not see eye-to-eye with Marquee? Just want to move on and be around an exciting young team? Chris Myers is the Cubs version of hiring LaRussa.
  13. Just one game out of the playoffs LOL
  14. I'm not sure that really matters that much. Emery was a long time draft guy. Pace was a pro guy and he's been way better (despite the top 10 busts). I would kind of like to see someone with a variety of experience. Pace never got outside of being under Loomis. Maybe more depth of experience/views would have served him well. Pace’s time in Chicago is going to be judged on one decision in drafting Mitch and passing on two probable Hall of Famers. I’m not sure having more experience on his own would have helped Pace.
  15. They’ve given up knowing that if they allow more than a TD, they’ll lose. Hard to blame them.
  16. Cubs and Hawks didn’t get good until they had ownership/person in charge changes. I think it’s time for the Bears too.
  17. What do you think of Louis Riddick as GM?
  18. New ownership is needed. Virginia and the rest of the McCaskeys are utter failures too. Honest question, how does a relatively hands off ownership affect a team being futile for most of the last 25 years? The Bears don’t have a good QB, they don’t have the coaching staff that could develop a good QB, they don’t have a FO that can hire the guys that could develop and coach a good QB, they don’t have executives that can hire the right FO that can hire a coaching staff that develops a good QB. But where does ownership fit in? Should they be more like Jerry Jones and be more involved, maybe clean house more frequently (like Ted Phillips) when it’s clear the team doesn’t have the right pieces? Maybe they should be building connections within the game and improving the image of the team? Maybe make changes like artificial turf at Solider Field so it’s not knows at the stadium where speed goes to die? These sound like I’m challenging your viewpoint and I’m not. I just always hear how the Bears need new ownership and I have a hard time figuring out why that would make the difference. I’m sure there are several reasons that I’m just not thinking of. They’ve had enough time. Whether they are too hands off or not doesn’t matter. What matters is that they can’t lead a team that can field a consistent winner. At the very least they need to get rid of Ted Phillips. Start with him and a new President will clean house.
  19. New ownership is needed. Virginia and the rest of the McCaskeys are utter failures too. I doubt they’ll sell, so I guess the question is, do the McCaskeys have a “Rocky” in the family? He already died
  20. New ownership is needed. Virginia and the rest of the McCaskeys are utter failures too.
  21. Somehow Romain Grosjean survived this fiery F1 crash in Bahrain today with only minor burn injuries. He was amidst that blaze for 18 seconds.
