  1. It was last year. Really, I just scanned games from last year and can't find one.
  2. When was the last time the Bears had to score in a two minute situation to win the game (and did it)? I literally can't remember the last time a game ended like this for the bears.
  3. Agreed. Its amazing how if that is any other team in the league, I feel completely confident that the kicker will make it. And even though we have one of the most accurate kickers in history, I was sure it would miss.
  4. Just please no horrible sacks.
  5. Credit to their kicker for making them, but man, he has come close to missing 3 times.
  6. They are who we thought they were!
  7. It's like Rivera hasn't watched the Bears since he left.
  8. Amazing with the field position the Bears have had today that they couldn't get a couple of field goals out of it.
  9. Here is where if the roles were reversed, the other team would come back out with their offense on the field. I am guessing we won't.
  10. My first thought when the Tigers were up 2-0 on the Yankees with Verlander going in Game 3 was "oh crap, this is going to be like 2006 again where the Tigers sweep to get to the series, but get rusty having to wait around for the cardinals to win in 7 games. " Hopefully the long layoff doesn't affect them too much.
  11. It seems like there should be a penalty for that. Coaches get a penalty for throwing the red flag when it will be automatically reviewed. This seems like a similar type of thing. Sort of an unsportsmanlike or delay of game type of thing. The timeout was clearly called before they snapped the ball.
  12. I like how good teams winning in unattractive ways is not a bad list to be on for some teams, but the bears get criticized for being in a game that was too close at halftime. Also, when he gets to the Jags, he refers to them getting mauled... not that they kept it close.
  13. The 3 really bad calls you are talking about weren't that bad. The packer defender did trap the ball on the interception. The roughing call on Luck's fumble may have been a bad call, but it is really hard to blame the ref on that one. In fast time, and even the first few replays looked really bad--like he is going to get fined bad. Yeah, eventually we saw that his helmet never directly hit lucks helmet, but it was close. There have been many, many worse roughing calls made in the past. I don't remember the pass interference call ( I probably missed that one as I was switching between games a bit). But once again, there are bad pass interference calls every single game... including as I mentioned earlier the one not called against Woodson in the endzone on wayne. That would have been an easy touchdown, or a first down at the 1 if they called it. Instead, Indy settled for a field goal. It's a culmination of the three weeks. Fuse is pretty short at this point. Add the Cardinals in the postseason and scoring 8 runs on 7 hits overall. I don't think I even have a fuse at the moment. I understand. I hate bad officiating. I really hate it in sport like baseball where robot umps/replay could get everything right and they don't want to use it. My wife doesn't understand how Illinois basketball hasn't gotten one call in their favor in years... but I have to explain to her that its true. Its just that the calls against the packers the past few weeks happen. They get their share as well... it just so happened that the worst one happened on a game ending play. I would have been pissed, but I wouldn't have blamed todays game on bad calls.

  15. Packer fans are the worst. They get calls their way all of the time, but if it ever goes against them, it is the end of the world. Yes we all agree that the Seattle call was a bad one. But they act like it is the only and worst bad call in sports history. There were other bad calls that helped the packers that game as well. Funny that you guys watch the games and see how much they get screwed. When I watch, I see how many bad calls they get in their favor as well. How about today when Wayne got tackled in the endzone as the ball was coming to him? How about the 4th and inches play where multiple packers had their helmets in the indy backfield before the ball was snapped? Point is, there are bad calls every game... packer fans are the only ones that make shirts out of it.
  16. It seemed like briggs may have had a chance to go at that ball if not for being held big time near the sideline. Nevermind... interception!
  17. there was a terrible PI call against seattle that allowed GB to score their TD. as well as 2-3 missed holds. Right. This play will get all of the attention. Way too much attention. But there are plenty of bad calls in every game. Green Bay definitely gets more than their fair share.
  18. Well, so much for my mini-rant on people who say you should always knock the ball down. Although it should have been an interception. It looked like Tate just put his arm in after the defender caught it. It never looked like Tate had any kind of possession until they were both on the ground.
  19. In addition to teams screwing themselves by icing the kicker... I feel like there have been enough "batted hail mary's into someones hands for a touchdown" that maybe people should stop going crazy every time a defender just tries to intercept it. I hate that people like to act like it is crazy if a defender doesn't just bat it down... because usually that means they bat it forward somewhat horizontally and another player is there to catch it. In fact, I think there is usually an offensive player that purposely waits behind the mass of people for that exact outcome.
  20. Also, what is the point of the time-out for the punt? Is it just to the punt return team on the field? The rams were already in Bears territory (close enough for a field goal) so the most likely outcomes would be a punt into the end zone, a punt angled out of bounds, or a punt that Hester would have to fair catch anyway since the defenders would be there before the ball. Then, they would just run the clock out anyway... totally stupid.
  21. Totally predictable that the bears timeout gives the rams time to think and change their minds. I knew it right when they called it. I feel like this happens to Lovie all of the time.
  22. http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2012/09/jeff_fisher_get_off_jay_cutler.html I am glad someone said that. I agree with UMF, this whole thing is ridiculous. My favorite thing I saw this week was the CBS pregame show. They had Marino and Cowher discussing how Jay Cutler needs to change and it was wrong of him to do what he did. While Marino is speaking, the CBS producers cut to video of him (Marino) tearing into teammates on the sideline back when he played... then a video of him tearing into two assistant coaches on the sideline. Every quarterback does this. Brady, Manning, etc. Marino was famous for it--except when they do it, it is totally acceptable. I don't understand why Cutler is such a lightning rod for criticism.
