I actually think he could have gone multiple places and people wouldn't have hated him--at least not to this extent. I wish he would have stayed in Cleveland as well, but if he went to the Knicks, Nets, or Bulls, I think people would have been OK with it considering he would have still been the obvious main guy on the team (Rose wasn't an MVP caliber player in people's minds). I think it specifically that Miami created their superteam that people hated him. And the shirt doesn't make me hate him, I was just joking. Although I wouldn't call it awesome. If he was doing it to be funny, it would be awesome, but I really don't think that was his intention. It sort of reminded me of when everyone hated on AROD, and you want to defend him, but he keeps doing weird things like magazine shoots where he kisses himself in the mirror.

Steven A was saying they have no time to do anything other than generalized statements. No tape watching, no in depth analysis. It was interesting how quickly Cuban got that out of him. He went right to it. Which is ridiculous considering the show he is on. That point might be valid (despite stupid) on some of their shows like PTI or Around the Horn or something, but they spend 2 hours talking about 1 or 2 stories... and they are the same stories every day.

I also think it is funny that about 2 weeks ago, everyone was talking about blowing the team up (trading wade and or bosh), but now, everything is fine. It was fine two weeks ago. They were a great team whether they lost in the ECF or not. When you are one of about 3 or 4 teams with a legitimate shot to win--and the one most predict will win--you don't need to blow it up. Now the narrative will change from "something has to change" to "how many championships will they win?" Well, really, Thunder get a real coach and figure out their cap & this could be it for Miami. Wade still old and busted. I agree. I'm not trying to say they will win multiple titles.

Yeah it would be infinitely more acceptable for him to have won if Wade wasn't on the team. Can't stand him or the way he plays. He can be so amazing, but about 60% of his game is just pretending to be fouled. It really makes the game hard to watch.

I just hope we don't have to hear Heat players talk about how tough it was the past two years. The reason they got together was because they thought it was going to be easy--and its probably the main reason people hated them. They got together to just steamroll the league. "Once the games start, its going to be easy."

Hopefully Skip Bayless off's himself tonight because he doesn't want to live in a world where LeBron has a title. Or at least never goes on TV again. Don't pay much attention to whoring loudmouths like Bayless anymore. But I imagine the world will still turn. so then you've just completely quit watching ESPN? I have in the past two weeks or so and it honestly feels great. I mean I knew it had become a horrible horrible station, but I just like sports too much and it is one of the only options. I saw something on Deadspin I think about the time they commit to stories and I think the Heat/Lebron had more minutes that every other thing they talk about combined. I remember when you could watch a morning sportscenter and get highlights from EVERY game--all in a half hour. Even the ones you didn't care about--but I knew someone did. Now you don't get highlights of pretty much anything.

I remember in the offseason thinking a canceled season wouldn't be the worst thing ever. At least the Heat wouldn't win for another year. Man am I glad the season went through now. Injuries galore. Rose out for a good amount of next year. Heat with a title.

It's just as bad with the 3 or 4 steps travel when a guy from the 3 pt line put his head down or does a spin move and goes towards the basket. Patrick Ewing made a HoF career out of this with his running hook shot. I don't really get when that becomes OK in the player's mind. I am certainly a nobody when it comes to basketball, but I would feel completely awkward with taking even 3 steps. When does it become OK in your mind to take 4 regularly and sometimes 5 steps on drives to the basket?

They are with him. He and wade are allowed to travel at will. And I am not just talking on drives. Wade gets to switch his pivot foot all the time. He blatantly did it a minute or two after they called it on Thabo early in the game. The NBA and its rules on traveling feel like the NCAA and going after the big schools. Kentucky pays $200k for a player... hit middle tennessee state with some violations.

And per lebron, im not gonna hate on a guy's game because he announced his free agency decision on live tv. I dont understand the point of refusing to recognize what he is doing. I would have said the same on here about Kobe in 2009 or Dirk last year. LBJ is the best of his generation and playing at his best right now. I don't think people are hating on his game. Pretty much everyone agrees he is a great player. They hate him for a variety of reasons, though. To me, "the decision" was never a main reason to hate him. There are so many other better reasons. However, my hate for the heat mainly stems from my hate of Dwayne Wade.

Two really frustrating plays were that Battier banked three and the goaltend that should have been a block. That block was especially frustrating because the thunder had cut the lead to 8 and would have had a ton of momentum off of that play. Soon the lead was back in the teens.

Heat are allowed to hack all of the time. Their big lead in the first seemed to come off of a whole lot of hacking and stripping. So frustrating.

Agreed, but I don't really understand how stern's question was the appropriate response. As the article mentions, this wasn't really a loaded question. Answering the wife-beater question with a yes or a no implies you have beaten your wife. The thing about Rome's question was that he was giving Stern the opportunity to say no, and give reasons why it is a ridiculous thought. One thing that annoys me about Rome is that his interviews almost have a narrative that he controls--basically answering his own question while he asks the question... but he also generally is very favorable to his guests (Jim Everett notwithstanding). It is a stupid question in the fact that Stern obviously isn't going to admit to anything, but he was giving him an opportunity to shoot it down and explain why thinking so is stupid.

Ignoring his rude responses, he did have a good point about all of the possible conspiracy theories. Leading up to the Draft Lottery, all I kept hearing on sports radio was, "we will know this lottery is fixed when the Nets win it." The only other option I heard was "the league will want to pay back Michael Jordan by giving him the first pick." No one said the Hornets. Then as soon as they won, everyone knows it is a conspiracy. The hornets conspiracy theory probably does make the most sense--getting someone to buy the team on the promise of the #1 pick. But people will find a way to think it is a conspiracy no matter what. I wasn't saying he was a prick for what he said, just his tone and overall pompous attitude whenever he's interviewed. He's a smug asshat. I've headr him interviewed by other media members about all sorts of NBA related topics, he's been on with Simmons a few times and he's just an [expletive]. I definitely didn't think you meant it like that. I guess I didn't need to quote you. I guess I did because I agreed he was being a jerk with his responses.

Totally agree. As Sulley said earlier, I don't know how many QB's I would rather have with the situation we have had the past few years. That Monday night game against the Lions last year was one of the most impressive QB performances I have ever seen. I wish the country could see someone like Brady have to play in that situation and see how it turns out.

the thing is, he's usually friendly in PCs. it's that meathead urlacher that gets surly and goes after reporters with his answers, the so-called face of the franchise. jay is usually boring, though he's been more insightful lately. Actually, that brings up an overall inconsistency. It isn't just PCs. Urlacher is easily as surly and stand-off-ish in general as Cutler is. Yet Brian is treated much better than Jay. I've always wondered why people don't like Cutler. Everyone agrees the Favre attention-whoring was insufferable, yet they hate Jay when he doesn't give a crap what people think of him and doesn't go out of his way to make everyone like him. Recently I had the same thoughts about Urlacher that were mentioned here. I feel like if you got to hang out with Cutler and Urlacher separately behind the scenes, you would really like Cutler. He seems intelligent, funny and overall a good guy. I bet if you hung out with Urlacher, you would think he actually is a meathead and douche. Yet all bears fans love to worship Urlacher and many somehow don't like cutler. EDIT: I realize most sports fans are meatheads and douches.

The NBA has always been a sport where almost every team in the league knows (or should know) they don't really have a chance though. You could probably pick about 3 teams every year that have a real chance to win the title and be right 95% of the time. I bet most predictions at the beginning of the year were Heat vs Thunder. To be honest though, even as a bulls fan, I wouldn't be that upset with the Thunder dominating for a while. I hated the idea of the Heat doing it, but the Thunder are much more like-able. I think that since the players are so much more visible in the NBA, it is easy to root for certain teams and especially root against certain teams that are not your own home team. Also, growing up in the 90's made for such a perfect storm as a Bulls fan. 6 championships with arguably the greatest player ever during the heyday of NBA popularity... and all of this happening during the years of my life where sports were basically the most important thing in my life will never be able to be topped by any future bulls team--no matter how successful they were. I just really want to see all of my teams win at least once in my lifetime. The 90's bulls already gave me enough success to be content.

I was pretty confident in the Thunder coming in, but still nervous. It just seemed like they made it through such a harder stretch than the heat had to. To be honest, you could argue that every team the Thunder beat might be better than any team Miami beat (maybe the celtics beat the Mavs), and yet Miami struggled more to get to the finals.
