  1. Exactly. My problem with Correa would be that I don't buy the hype. I don't see a Machado or a Tulowitzki in his bat. That might just be me playing contrarian, but I think I still prefer both Buxton and Almora. Well, Buxton is considered a far better prospect than Correa and unlikely to be available at 6. You don't have to see Machado or Tulowitzki in Correa to consider him a good pick at 6 and better than Almora (though Correa is getting Tulowitzki and Zimmerman comps from scouts). Almora is getting similarly impressive names in the OF as comps, including Beltran and Moises Alou.
  2. [expletive] I remember that game. I forget that Vazquez used to be a really fun pitcher to watch with the Expos.
  3. He loves him some PCL. Good to see the Vitters get a couple of hits, and good to see that one of them is a double. He really needs to get his line up, and also get rid of that Jeff Baker-esque LH/RH split of his.
  4. If not Hamilton then I think we go slightly older and less everything in Ethier. Can't they just slightly overpay BJ Upton? He'll K and won't hit for great average, but he'll do everything else well and be 4-5 years younger than the other two.

  6. I'm still willing to blame the back + a funk.
  7. Good to see this is on WGN. Shark has passed Garza as my must see pitching matchup for this year. I really hope his transition stays so successful and he's CJ Wilson to Hamels' longer tenured Cliff Lee, with Garza as a better version of Colby Lewis. We'll need a better OF.
  8. What if it was more Trib like its consistently reported? I think some of you guys underrate the role of ownership...Just like Ricketts is a major part of the overhaul taking place right now, I think the Trib had a big hand in the draft (and FA -specifically Soriano's contract) as they were on the way out. Personally, I like Wilken.
  9. Is it way too soon to start referring to him as "this fuckin guy?" He needs a vacation or something. Also, welcome to the PCL Señor Raley.
  10. Both are too far away for me to take just them for Castro. Throw in Weiters/Jones + Matusz for the hell of it and I'd think about it.
  11. ^Already posted. Passed on Virant for Traver, and I think you commented that Virant is a tough sign.
  12. Wasn't this done by Cub fans all the time? What changed this year?
  13. The O's would have to throw in their CF or the D'Backs would have to throw in their RF AND pay for half of the extension under the table.
  14. Yep, and I'm not even that into the idea of trading Garza. Plus it's possible that some team will actually overpay in prospects for him. That's damn near impossible to do with Castro.
  15. It would have to be someone ridiculous like a David Price+...something dumb that would never happen...Or just no.
  16. This is where I stopped reading as well. Not that I think anyone on this team is 100% safe as far as trades go...If someone overwhelms the FO then more power to them. It's just that with Castro the return would have to blow minds for decades, nay centuries, to come.
  17. That back injury probably goes a long way in explaining the number of K's lately tbh. You have to think he's been restricted in his movements.
  18. Hey man...Not everything can be of doom. The inning of his downfall can work too.
  19. He might have the hardest nose on the team.
  20. Only a .260/.270 hitter? What happens?
  21. Finally broke, opened this thread, got what I expected, and now I'm madsadangrydisappoint.
  22. What kind of numbers do you guys think Rizzo puts up at his best? Is he a high average hitter in the MLB? Any comparisons to anyone?
  23. Speaking of AJ Morris, whatever happened to Graham Hicks the other arm in the Gorzellany trade? He disappeared last year with an elbow injury, but I haven't heard anything since. TJ surgery?
  24. What's he got? 89-93 FB Avg. curve Plus change Commit to TCU-was considered an after-thought as far as the top guy in the area (Borucki and Lilek were higher), he was more in the 2nd tier but I was there for his 1st start and he was electric. http://www.prepbaseballreport.com/profiles/IL/Alex-Young-5764123809 Video on the bottom...Passes my eye test for a HS draftee. TCU's also been picking up interesting arms lately as well, so that's also encouraging.
