    It is kind of amazing how good Lynn normally is with his repertoire. Just a 92 mph fastball, over and over.

    Add the [expletive] DH already. That was physically painful to watch.

    Lynn throws like 90% fastballs, so this seems like it would've been a decent matchup for Javy, actually. Oh, and I kind of think this series is going to suck. Especially this game.

    Well, I COULD see a sweep happening in the Cardinals series that starts tomorrow. Not the good kind though. Dan Haren and second half-Hammel isn't a good way to start off against a really good team.

    Rodney is still kind of filthy with that velocity and changeup. Not sure why he was so terrible with the Mariners.

    Herrera is a slightly better baseball player version of John Baker. How can you not love that guy.

    I know he strikes out a ton, but I'm really surprised they've even pretended to pitch to him. This pitcher's incredibly lucky that hanging slider didn't go even further than 495.

    ESPN stats and info only had it at 467 instead of 495.

    Now that Bryant is donging with regularity, he really is Giancarlo with decent defense at 3rd base. Amazing.

    omg, was that really 495? Like that was crushed, but that seems a little much.

    I feel like Bryant or Javy are going to catch up to one of these 95 mph fastballs this inning and hit it about 450 ft.

    That little girl's grandfather needs to help her out with the apostrophe use before she goes and embarrasses herself on TV.

    It's needless lineup alchemy at this point now that they have Jackson. It does little but potentially get less AB's for better hitters. Yeah, I thought one of the perks of batting a decent hitter 9th is that you can more easily put your best hitters 2-3. Instead, our best hitters are 4-5. Also, I'm surprised Javy is playing. Maddon was talking about playing the matchups with him and De La Rosa could be a tough one for him. On the other hand, on a hot day with the wind blowing out, it probably makes sense to put more dongsmen in.

    Ewwww, the pitching matchups against the Cardinals don't look great for us. Let's sweep tomorrow. Also, De La Rosa has some pretty big splits, so I wouldn't get your hopes up for Javy starting. Could be a La Stella day.

    lol, Len and JD have no idea who these DBacks infielders are.

    You know, I'm all about Arrieta saving bullets when he's at a career high in innings and could be gearing up for a long playoff run, but even I don't mind this. He's on an extra day of rest and the longer we go with a 6-8 game WC lead, I think they will be careful with him the last few weeks of the season.

    Rizzo's footwork around the base is incredible.

    lol, that's now 3 K's (2 against righties) on nasty changeups. The scouts in attendance might have just [expletive] themselves.

    It's weird how Russell, Soler, and Schwarber (if you ignore AAA for him) have all seen their K rates spike like 10% in the majors from where it was in the minors, while Bryant's has stayed mostly the same. Is that just random, or is there an explanation there?

    I think if the standings don't change much in the next week, week-and-a-half or so, I think you absolutely do something about Arrieta's workload. Skip him or throw Wada and/or Richard into the rotation for a turn.

    Oh my god, that last changeup to Peralta. If Arrieta can add a plus changeup to his three other plus pitches...
