  1. Bad call and stupid rule where you only get one challenge if you get it wrong. Still, you shouldn't miss that call live.
  2. Hendricks' fastball has insane movement tonight.
  3. I think the lineup and defensive alignment we saw last night is what we'll get Wednesday. Coghlan's been struggling, Starlin has to be in there, and La Stella has been hitting well. Maddon's also said he likes TLS vs high velocity.
  4. Still seems crazy to me this team is essentially 2008-good. That team was absurd and dominant from start to finish. Being in third place is probably part of the reason it feels different, but even around the trade deadline there was some doubt how good we were. Hell, Theo's most recent radio interview made it sound like he wasn't really expecting to make the playoffs then. But damn what a fun season.
  5. Brewers TV showed the handshakes and hugs. He's done.
  6. lol, now Starlin doesn't hit anything besides XBH's. Seems like he had about 4 doubles total going into August.
  7. Are we going to be favored on Wednesday, even if it's at PNC?
  8. Jesus, that broke like it was 82 mph. It was 90.
  9. Arrieta's legs look Farnsworth-esque tonight. The pants could be a little tighter though.
  10. lol, that is quite the backhanded compliment
  11. If Phillips would've made the play Starlin did a few innings ago, Thom would've gone into 15 minute rant about Barney winning the gold glove in 2012.
  12. It's not going to be whiffing with RISP, it's going to be the umping that causes me to have a breakdown next week. Like I might seriously lose it.
  13. Man what a terrible call on that check swing and the strike 3 the batter before. Umpires are so bad.
  14. imb has to be one of like ten people in the world currently listening to the Reds' radio feed
  15. As you've said before, our players now are nerds. Bryant's going to hit one over the scoreboard one day and we won't get so much as even a small bat flip. God I miss Sammy. Retire that [expletive] number, too. Junior Lake and Tommy Hunter are ruining everything. Although, Lake can pimp a homer with the best of them, the few times he connects.
  16. Polanco just did something that was nearly as embarrassing as his slip against the Cubs.
  17. Didn't the Cubs and Mets go into extras tied and 0 this year? Almost positive they did not that i can remember Looked it up..July 1st the Cubs won 2-0 in 11 innings ha i have almost no recollection of that game That was the Rizzo "It's magic" game I think.
  18. Bryant is out-Zobristing Zobrist.
  19. I watched like two minutes of the White Sox-Yankees game yesterday and heard Hawk bring up the fact that the Yankees scored on a "Kansas City Special." What a bitter old man. JD asking for a bloop reminded me of that.
  20. Goodness. That is a Major League umpire.
  21. omg, nasty collision between Cardinals outfielders. Piscotty looks like he could be hurt pretty bad.
  22. I'm going to have a difficult time being able to handle the umpiring if the Cubs make an extended run the playoffs, especially if the channels have the strike zone on screen.
  23. Sal Perez makes Starlin look like Kevin Youkilis.
  24. When the Cardinals were playing like a 100 win team and their pitching was healthy and good, I think it made sense to prefer to play them in the WC game. Their depth would be less of a factor, and we wouldn't have to face Cole in a one game playoff. Now, though, all of their pitchers are hurt or struggling, and they don't scare me at all in a 5 game series. You don't want to face Cole twice and Liriano once, who we match up terribly against, while we can only throw Arrieta once. Arrieta vs the Pirates for one game is absolutely the best case scenario for the Cubs' World Series chances.
  25. I've never liked Hosmer ever since that Eno Sarris article where he talks about how he's learned to approach players with questions. Hosmer was a huge prick. That ball should be over the fence.
