  1. velo is really good, and I think he's maybe thrown one or two non-fastballs, so maybe the whiffs are coming
  2. It's amazing how Maddon can be the type of manager he is after working with Scoscia for so long.
  3. These might be the two filthiest SP's in baseball right here. I'm not sure what Richard's ERA was doing in the 3.6's last year.
  4. Hmm, you guys appear to be right. Looks like I get it on my local FOX station in Des Moines. I was under the impression the simulcasts were only for WGN games. So yeah, abrown - I'd double check your tv guide to see if you get it on another channel.
  5. Have you specifically read the game tonight will be blacked out? I don't think they normally blackout opening day, plus ESPN is generally more lenient with the blackouts for Monday games, as opposed to the Wednesday ones.
  6. Has it ever been confirmed that Rizzo and Nolan have made whoopee?
  7. Maybe with all of the long relievers they'll switch it up, but we've been going with 13 pitchers for most of Theo's tenure here if I'm not mistaken. At this point, it appears this how he prefers to construct a roster.
  8. Yeah, it is hard to believe sometimes. Like, the guy who gets the most buzz as a potential MVP, Anthony Rizzo, might be the 4th best player on this team. That's just a stupid amount of talent.
  9. Side injuries seem to always be worse than originally expected. I might be making that up, but that's what it seems like. But really, outside of Rizzo/Bryant/Heyward, I won't lose too much sleep over position player injuries; we'll just plug someone else in that's good/has massive upside.
  10. I think Heyward is on the ESPN payroll. Such a silly ordeal to increase the excitement of a spring training game, and the World Wide Leader is milking the crap out of it.
  11. Holy hell, Bonds had a .480 OBP and an OPS north of 1.000 in his final season. I can't believe there wasn't one GM/owner who was willing to tell Selig to go screw and sign what was still the best left-handed hitter in the game.
  12. I'm reminded of one of JD's great jokes from last year when Jake had one of his rare bad outings and he said it was Jake from State Farm pitching, not Arrieta.
  13. It's pretty amazing this Lester stuff wasn't a bigger deal in a market like Boston.
  14. So it hasn't been a great spring for the relievers.
  15. I get sort of a Ted Cruz vibe looking at Dave Cameron's face.
  16. Katie Nolan doesn't belong in that group. She's a delight.
  17. [tweet] [/tweet] I hope the short RF porch at Yankee Stadium fixes him (stops trying to pull everything) and he hits .300 with like 25 dongs. He's got real power when he gets into one, as we've all seen.
  18. Is La Stella ever going to return from that minor calf thing or whatever it was? Would be funny if Kawasaki sneaked onto the roster considering I'm not sure any two humans are more similar (as players and people) as Kawasaki and Herrera.
  19. What was worse - the last 4 weeks, or the Rose Bowl? Pretty crazy year.
