  1. Oh my god. That is hilarious.
  2. If they feel Bryant isn't ready for Tennessee to start next season, I doubt they'd have much of a problem keeping Candelario in KC until Bryant gets promoted.
  3. #2, probably. Bryant dominating the NWL doesn't top what Baez is doing in the Southern League. Advanced college bats sure are fun though.
  4. I want to say it's there for advanced draft picks who are playing in lower levels to get used to pro ball and they're almost ready for High-A/AA when the season ends? If that's the case, wouldn't Bryant qualify (without taking one of our 2 slots for guys at advanced A)? Conceivably, if that's the case, all of Bryant, Soler, Almora (if he gets to A+ before the 15th), and Baez would seem to be able to go...unless I'm missing something. Even if they could, I'd doubt they would, but yeah. Yeah, the way I read it, Bryant, Soler, and Almora could all go together, as well as AA and AAA players, obviously. I could be missing something as well though.
  5. I want to say it's there for advanced draft picks who are playing in lower levels to get used to pro ball and they're almost ready for High-A/AA when the season ends? No Baez? Considering he could make an impact in the majors as soon as next season, I want him facing as much high level pitching as possible before then.
  6. ESPN Chicago story made it sound like Baez to AAA was a possibility as well. That seemed like Jesse Rodgers opinion, but I guess they've surprised with Baez before. This one would be more of a stretch, however. Tennessee is also in a better position for the playoffs than Iowa if I'm not mistaken. Also, I expected those kind of results to the poll in that story, yet I'm still a little disappointed.
  7. It doesn't really matter if he can only play 1B or corner OF. If he's a reserve at those positions in the majors while Olt is still in AAA striking out at a 30+% clip, it matters. I don't love Vitters. Picking him says more about Olt than it does Josh, at least for me.
  8. Astros got an intriguing prospect for Veras. I don't see why we can't get something similar. Veras is quite a bit better and has a reasonable team option for next season.
  9. Javy walk. 1-2 with a single and no K's
  10. He does this at the start of every level. Then he quits hitting for average and still has no power. Both guys have their warts. Give me the light tower power. Lindor is also nearly a full year younger than Baez. They're really close, but I give a slight edge to Lindor. That said, since we already have a long term SS on the big league team, I'm not disappointed we have the guy with the higher offensive ceiling.
  11. While Javy is hitting for unreal power in AA, Francisco Lindor has 10 walks and 1 strikeout in the 10 games he's played since getting promoted to AA. Hitting .441. He's 19.
  12. Tulo would have been out for the next two months had he done that.
  13. Right now, it's Vitters. I have more confidence in his ability to hit. Vitters looks to be a platoon corner outfielder/first baseman, while Olt's inability to do the most important thing in the game of baseball, leads me to believe he won't do much of anything at the big league level. One of these guys clearly has a lot more work to do than other to be even a bench player.
  14. He went to AZ a few days ago, so I think he's supposed to be in Boise by next week.
  15. I think Martin Perez or someone with more value has to be involved if a deal is close considering the "high price" everyone has been reporting. No reason to settle for a deal led by Mike Olt when you still have a few weeks.
  16. Yes they've mentioned it, especially in earlier appearances.
  17. Seems like MLB umpires should be better at not calling balls and strikes based on what the catcher does.
  18. Why? It was a ground ball right at him that he didn't make a play on. That's a pretty easy E5 call. Balls hit that hard generally seem to be scored as hits.
  19. No. Got hit with a 72 mph pitch. And he's fine. It was the left elbow at that.
  20. Hm, so the official scorer is going to stick with the E5 ruling on Castro's second at-bat, isn't he? That puzzles me. And what a play by Valbuena.
  21. And that the other corner doesn't extend to the third base dugout.
  22. 4 pitch walk, each pitch looked relatively close to the plate. Excellent. The following AB after his first two AA homers each were strikeouts where he took huge swings and missed all six pitches. Nice adjustment there.
  23. Chapman just threw a fastball to Freddie Freeman that was clocked at 104 mph on the Braves' broadcast.
  24. Man I'd love to see the Chicago media and fanbase's reaction to Castro and Ramirez doing things like that. Personally, I love it.
  25. Why is this always brought up? lol at the 19 year old who has a 33/35 B/KK ratio in high-a who's a lock to stay at short and probably be a plus defender? Joking, my man. Clearly one homerun in double-A doesn't cancel all of that out.
