  1. Oh look at Darwin Barney South dominating us.
  2. I gotta figure they want him to cut down the K a bit more before he gets promoted. ya, no. He's destroying AA pitching, why would they want him to change his approach? Look as long as he'd playing good defense in CF and OPSing close to .900 why mess with success? Because he's just like Brett [expletive] Jackson? Who hit .260 in AA. In his defense, he put up a .276/.366/.465/.831 line his first go-around in AA. He's clearly not as good as Bryant, but I think a lot of people are forgetting how good he was at his peak as a prospect and how he was also supposed to be the type of player who could be good despite a high K rate. He also struck out less at that level than Bryant is now and pitchers had their way with him at higher levels. The moral is it's at least a little concerning how much Bryant K's; that is all. Dudes generally don't strike out at a ~28% clip at AA and turn out to be stars unless they're Giancarlo Stanton. Fortunately, both Javy and Bryant might be the most similar things to Giancarlo in the minors.
  3. Lake will find a way to swing through anything. That first pitch was 87 mph down the middle.
  4. Today is a good day. OPS up to .981 and counting. wake me up when it's back to where it belongs, over 1, [expletive]. Or when his K% gets below 25%. It just eked over 28.

  6. Why is Rivero still in Double-A? Not only is he absolutely dominating, he's also 26 years old.
  7. It's so much easier to watch when your closer throws strikes. Giving up two quick hits, I didn't even have time to get nervous like I would've been with two walks.
  8. Neil's velocity seemed to be down a bit that first AB.
  9. It's really shocking how few K's he normally gets. His curveball and cutter/slider have electric movement.
  10. Starlin's hit like 3 balls off the wall the last few games.

I fully expect Rizzo to still be our best hitter. Baez and Bryant aren't going to post above average rates in both walks and strikeouts to go along with their power like Rizzo can.
  12. Baez flied out to the warning track in CF his 2nd AB. Bryant K'd in his most recent AB.
  13. Why is Schlitter warming up over Strop and Ramirez?
  14. Len totally just embarrassed the hell out of his kid.
  15. That was a brutal job of receiving by Castillo on that pitch to Holliday.
  16. Baez gets intentionally walked in his 3rd PA. If gameday is right, the first 3 balls were regular pitches and the 4th was intentional.
  17. Starlin has taken some huge swings when up in the count lately and is mashing.
  18. Must have. Len said something about sprinkles right before the Bonifacio catch. Came back after commercial and it was pouring.
  19. Samardzija's command is quite poor tonight.
  20. BB and infield pop up is classic Valbuena.
