  1. I'd listen if someone said Schwarber is our second best prospect. I know I shouldn't read too much into these stats at low levels for a college bat who just finished his college season, buuut, those are some pretty good stats he's putting up. He might have more power and even better approach than Soler.
  2. 7 homers and 6 K's for Schwarber.
  3. Last time Starlin got doubled off, I vaguely remember Len and/or JD lecturing him on air. Now Rizzo was just in a "tough spot."
  4. Schwarber's 2-3 with a BB. To go along with 6 homers in 12 career pro games, he has 5 K's and 5 BB's. I enjoy him.
  5. Don't they still paint "Vote Brewers" on their field by homeplate? That's lame.
  6. I get annoyed thinking about how many Cubs fans likely share this view and want Starlin to move off SS for Baez. In general, the lack of appreciation for him just upsets me. On a similar note, last week or the week before Kap said on Sportstalk Live or whatever that Rizzo and Castro could be hitting 6-7 in a few years. Like what the hell, Rizzo's probably the best future hitter currently in the org, and the only prospect I can comfortably say will be a better hitter than Castro is Bryant. Given up hope on Baez already? Absolutely not, but I'm not moving Starlin to 2B or 3B when Baez could very well K 40% of the time in the majors. I'm much more willing to bet on Starlin over the next few years with what he's shown this season. And actually, I change my mind from last post. I'm fairly confident Soler and Schwarber will be better hitters than Castro. I was mostly shocked by him saying Rizzo would be that low in the order.

  8. Dreaming on future infield of: C: Schwarber 1B Rizzo 2B Baez 3B Bryant SS Castro Defense be damned. That would seem to clash with Bosio's ability to improve GB%. How so? Schwarber isn't fielding ground balls, and the "weakest" would be Bryant who could be fine for all we know. If Bryant ends up being fine at 3B, then yeah, it would be okay. I don't think that should be the expectation though. Mainly what I was saying is the Cubs won't have a defense be damned approach with the success Bosio is having with the pitchers ability to improve GB%.

  10. He's pretty good with the media and will always give the least controversial answers possible. One thing he said that interested me was that he played about 15 games in RF as a Junior. I knew he played there some, but I didn't realize it was that many. It probably shouldn't impact anything now, but I have even less confidence he sticks at 3rd after hearing that.
  11. My favorite: Yes, a more consistent offensive team from the AL east... which I guess would be the [expletive] Jays? Oh, you didn't know? All AL East lineups are filled with 9 Joey Vottos.
  12. Votto's going to need to work out with Rizzo this offseason.
  13. Norris struck out 10 tonight. Has 19 K's to 4 BB's in 11 innings at AA.
  14. Nice play, but I feel like the majority of his throws making Rizzo stretch like that to the other side of the base. He's going to hurt Rizzo doing that.
  15. I think we're gonna be able to move Russell at the deadline. Not like he'll bring much back, but it's better than a non-tender.
  16. Will be interesting to hear what Theo and Jed come up with for why Bryant breaks camp with Iowa next year. I mean it's the smart thing to do, but it will be funny nonetheless. We've already gotten the "it's his first full year as a pro" line, but that won't work next spring.
  17. From what I've read about Bryant and his personality, I sincerely doubt he gives a [expletive] about the sparkle nonsense.
  18. Blue Jays' pro scouting director is in the house according to Morosi.
  19. Tom Loxas annoys me more than #sparkle.
  20. Since they're not that far apart in age, who puts up better offensive numbers, Rizzo or Bryant? Votto-esque approach, or 80 power?
  21. Adrian Gonzalez is another first baseman who isn't aging well. He's been very mediocre. Looking at the lines put up by Pujols, Gonzalez, and Fielder and then constantly seeing Cashner get injured just makes me love Rizzo even more.
  22. Pujols got off to such a good start, and I figured he was still hovering around a .900 OPS. Noticed tonight it's under .800. That contract.
  23. That ball was out of bounds or whatever you call it. Good thing it didn't cost us.
  24. Alcantara has 10 triples. Damn.
  25. That was some top notch studio analysis on ESPN, and I know nothing about soccer.
