Glad Schwarber is in there. I completely understand sitting him against Kershaw and Sale-like lefties, but we can do without the Denorfia platoon against most LHP.

I went to the Sunday game of the Cubs-Twins series in June, and I was sitting in front of a random lady who was trying to teach her kids stuff about the game, and I could tell she thought she knew a lot about it. Then one of her kids asked her what the "K" signs they were putting up meant. She knew it meant strikeout and said as much. Then the kid asked why some were backwards, and her response was that they don't want to put up KKK, so they switch one around as to not offend anyone. She was dead serious, and I chuckled to myself.

Eh, I think you're overstating the velocity concerns. 92 isn't worrisome from him. I think he was just bad tonight - hanging pitches when the wind is howling out.

Oh wow, Len's right; that will be an interesting negotiation between Avila and his dad this offseason. Is this the first time ever a GM's son is on his team?

I would guess it's possible. Would be pretty awesome if they did.

Why? I dislike him more than I probably should, but he was a bad player before becoming a professional and might take ROY away from Bryant, who had historic college (and minor league) numbers. I've posted this before, but his college slash line - .253/.305/.289/.594 (0 career hr's). Bryant's - .353/.486/.702/1.188 (54 dongs). Bryant's been really, really good in the Majors, and it drives me crazy that Duffy has been similarly good and people in the media are viewing them in a similar light. The Giants being direct playoff competition adds to my disliking of him as well.

I'm generally a pretty optimistic fan, but I can't understand rooting for the Giants this series. I think we're quite good, but passing both teams just isn't realistic.

I just want the Giants to lose. I have zero hope we'll pass the two best teams in the NL (maybe in all of baseball) to win the division, and I don't really care where the wild card game is played. I just want the Giants to lose and for the Cubs to be in that wild card game, damnit. Oh and Monday off days are the wooorrrrst.

Kris has been really good this series, but he hasn't hit many in the air. Time to change that.

Got hit in the right ankle with a groundball. Wasn't hit all that hard, but it got him in a bad spot.

The Crosstown Cup means a lot to Hawk; I kind of feel bad for him.

With the way things are going for us lately, I could totally see us getting no-hit and still win.

Man, the Nationals are a dumpster fire right now. The top 6 teams in the NL are sooo much better than the other 9. None of the teams lose unless they play each other.

Dan Haren in this ballpark vs Chris Sale is such a bad matchup. But [expletive] it, I'm still expecting us to win.

Mixed in with a lot of really good starts, Felix has had some real stinkers. He lasted just 1/3 of an inning against the Astros in June while giving 8 runs. He's also given up 7 runs two other times.
