  1. Maybe it'll be Illinois? Oh, wait, they probably won't even make it. We'll probably be too busy being gay.
  2. Just playin, I don't want to miss Frank Martin actually murder somebody on the court during a sweet 16 game.
  3. I hope the KSU/KU game blows up in their face. Literally. Like a bomb being detonated in the arena. Killing everyone.
  4. The stats referenced were no doubt Sullivan's attempts to show how stupid statistics are. Hendry's quotes on stats about how welcoming they are to stats, but when it comes down to it they go with their gut...just hilarious. Look we love stats, it's just that whenever we make a decision about anything, we don't care what they say.
  5. Yeah Deron and Devin are it. Still Wisky has one of the two All Stars. Of course there's only been like 12 all stars drafted in the time frame in question.
  6. It's a percentage vote that puts them in, and there's no overwhelming amount of members supporting one team. One guy abstaining from a vote on Duke or Purdue isn't going to keep them from being voted a lock right away
  7. I just hope Jereme isn't sitting behind Bill Cole. Barring injury, I'm willing to bet on Jereme getting more tick. I wouldn't be surprised if he's off the bench to start the year, but he's just too good to not get serious minutes come conference play. I wouldn't be stunned to see a DMac-Paul-DJ-Davis-Tisdale lineup for much of the year though.
  8. Care to mention any names? please don't. i'm depressed enough as it is. All I have heard is Derek Elston. Are there others? I heard something about Watford, but I doubt it's anything. If that happens I'm going to lose my [expletive]. I'd heard rumors about one of Watford or Jones, but don't really have a read on its viability. I still contend that losing Jones would be a positive, though raw may disagree.
  9. Hopefully Jeff Jordan decides to focus on his studies again.
  10. I will say I'd really like an '11 committment soon so I can have some sort of happiness. Cmon Shaw, just do it.
  11. wait, 2 years ago you were saying that these WOULD be the good players The only guy in this class Sulley has ever talked up was Brandon Paul, and I don't think he was really on him til his senior year. Next year's class is the one everyone's been hard over.
  12. Worse. And with all the Notre Dame prestige, would anybody here take that job over Texas or Florida or USC? A big problem some IU fans are having is the same problem some ND fans are having where they expect their teams to be national title contenders every year all because they won titles before any kid playing for them was born. Agree with the first part, the IU bball position is worse. I think your second paragraph might be off in terms of IU fans expectations. I don't really know anyone at this point that expects IU to ever go back to having the sort of success they enjoyed from the mid 70's to the mid 90's. Or at least, that portion of the fan base is extremely small at this point. ETA: And I think your bolded drops IU a lot further down this list than most people have them. Recruits don't even remember a time when IU had that kind of success. I don't imagine they get that overwhelming impression of IU having some storied tradition. I mean, they can see the banners, but I'm sure that seems like an eternity ago. It's why I went back and added "some" in front of both IU and ND. I know from CubinNY's frothing ramblings how some people view Notre Dame, and I know from a sampling of Peegs how some IU fans are. Nobody here acts that way, and no ND fans I know act that way, but it's a real case to me of the dumbest 10% yelling the loudest.
  13. looking at this list again, I also notice that if you take away a 4-5 yr span in the late 80s/early 90s you only have Dunston and some of the newer guys. Even some of the other names mentioned fall into that time period(martinez, may, jackson) Not sure what that means, but covering a 40+ year period that cant be good. It means we had really shitty GMs between Holland and Green, and then again after Green. And even Holland wasn't any good after the first 5 years or so.
  14. To be fair, I'm a Notre Dame football fan.
  15. And the techies screwed things up, at least at first, with regards to balance in the schedule
  16. Doesn't prestige play a big part regardless? Indiana is still the face of Big 10 basketball to a lot of people despite their recent troubles. You couldn't pay me enough to take the present day IU job over present day MSU some here may scoff, but maybe your ego isn't big enough. A coach with a huge ego would love to be the guy that brought IU back to NCAA glory. Are you saying Clappy clap Clapster has an ego?

  19. This is a really loaded question. Is it taking over for the current coach in the current situation? Is it starting from scratch? It seems like people are just ranking schools based on the prestige of their programs
  20. By my count, I have 15 no doubt 1 bid leagues. SWAC, NEC, MEAC, Ivy, Big South, Patriot, America East, Summit, Southland, Atlantic Sun, Sun Belt, Big Sky, SoCon, Big West, & MAC
  21. And I'm in for Illinois
  22. We were incredibly accurate last year. 64/65 teams in. 34/65 teams on the correct line. 59/65 within one line. According to TT that placed us 2nd out of 62 projections that were tracked by this method.
  23. You mean overall right?
  24. The problem is none of the other teams in the bottom half are losing anybody either. Michigan and NU are the only lower half teams to lose a senior of significance, and Northwestern is replacing that senior with a returning Kevin Coble.
  25. Yeah I'm not so sure the Cubs didn't think that Dunston was succeeding in his early years.
