  1. Before last season, didn't pretty much everyone always say that Bradley was a good teammate and well liked in the clubhouse? Yes, but the media could have spun some of the details of the Jeff Kent-Bradley feud in 05 to make Bradley look pretty bad. Was that mostly Bradley's fault? Probably not, but the media could have made it out to be and many people would have bought it. I don't know if that woulda flown. Everybody hates Jeff Kent.
  2. Because Pearl has had teams who have had to vacate 2 Final Fours and left two teams on probation? So baseless accusation is the same thing as TWO instances of NCAA punishment? Really? There has likely never- ever- been a coach under more scrutiny than Pearl, and despite this, the NCAA has never had reason to sniff around at Tennessee under him. But, by all means, let's compare him to a coach who's never been to a Final 4, despite having taken two separate teams to one. and lets not forget Pearl spent a lot of time in coaching purgatory for his mistake in the Deon Thomas affair.....and most Illinois fans seem to forget that they got put on probation for legitimate violations and still retained the assistant coach who was most responsible for the violations. Name the legitamate violations.
  3. Like when Paul Sullivan went on a spring training broadcast and called him a crazy person.
  4. All things are never equal with ratface prowling the sidelines
  5. ESPN announcers doing the tournament would lead to a lot of muting at my place
  6. Just another bitter Illinois fan.
  7. Manny Harris to forgo his senior season. I'll drop Michigan to 8th in my predictions now.
  8. I'm the only one in either of my pools to have Butler in the Final 4. Of course my disaster of a first round means, I still got nothing out of it.
  9. Not his fault some stupid GM overpaid him. Then he should return some of it!!!! 19 Million to play a game!!! I'd do it for free!!! ARGLE BARGLE ROBBLE ROBBLE
  10. Howland isn't leaving UCLA for [expletive] DePaul. I'm pretty sure DePaul knows this too. Create the illusion of effort to go grab a big name and then give the job to Dane Fife
  11. when I read this, I thought southside must have said it. It's the ironic hipster in him, sort of the same reason why he pretends Bradley is a good guy. Haha, an ironic hipster. You've sure got me pegged. And I've never said Bradley was a good guy, I think he's an interesting person and probably more intelligent than most other ballplayers. He has serious issues that have helped him get in the way of himself along the way. Jim Edmonds is my favorite Cub because he was a key part of the best Cubs team of my life, came in as a midseason replacement, and played like a total [expletive] bad ass. And he did it all with the motivation of sticking it to our arch rival.
  12. James Russell is going to throw like 1 inning a week.
  13. Jeter doesn't seem the gambling type
  14. I thought Zeller was a Butler lean, and kinda had the feeling if UNC ever felt like going full court on him they'd get him, but you guys know better than I
  15. He's actually not from Bloomington, though. He's from Arizona and only moved to Bloomington last year subsequent to committing to IU (which makes this situation all the more perplexing/disconcerting). Regardless, there are better available guards in Indiana in the Class of 2011 than Carlino (Rivals #122): Marquis Teague (#2) and Jeremiah Davis (#40). Cody Zeller (#35) is also available. That's to say nothing of the loaded Class of 2012 (including guards Ron Patterson, Gary Harris, D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, Yogi Ferrell, etc). Indiana is in a serious scholarship crunch -- at exactly the worst time -- with scholarships filled almost exclusively by role players. I don't have a looking glass into Carlino's future, but losing another prospective role player isn't earth shattering. At this point in time, one in the hand isn't worth two in the bush. Top-150 guards pretty much grow on trees. Scout's still got him as a 4 star, I think this is a bigger deal than you think. Beyond the loss of the indivudal player, I think it looks bad to have guys de-committ unless you immediately follow with a replacement. I don't see IU having much of a chance for the 3 recruits listed above.
  16. wtf If you look at this in a vacuum only -- which is difficult because of various strange/negative happenings with the program -- this is likely a positive. At this point, I think an open scholarship for 2011/12 has more value than Matt Carlino. Now, a similar situation with Austin Etherington will lead to a different opinion. Is there any validity to Etherington leaving? I saw it on the free peegs board, but I haven't had my toilet paper confirm the source yet.
  17. David's still pissed he had to watch this crap instead of NCIS tonight.
  18. THE RUNNNNNNERRRRRRRRRRRR
  19. Gus ain't gonna have a voice left if there's a 3rd OT
  20. Ha. I wish Notre Dame had standards flexible enough to get guys like E'Twaun Moore, JaJuan Johnson and Robbie Hummel in (note: I have no idea if any of those guys are good students, so if they are just disregard). All a matter of perspective, I guess. Eh, Purdue has to turn down recruits due to academics too. Obviously not to the same extent as ND. Kentucky (basketball) is just everything that's wrong with college sports. I wouldn't want one and done guys. I just don't agree with that crap. Either make them go for multiple seasons like the NFL or nothing. The current way is a joke and I wouldn't want to be one of the schools that support it. It's not like it's the NCAA's rule. If the one and done goes to class for the one year he's there, what do you care?
  21. Last year Hubert Davis said the Big Ten wouldn't win a single game in the NCAAs. This was after MSU was revealed as a 2 seed.
  22. Bilas can barely hide his disgust for this game
  23. That just made me ~115 bucks and kept me alive in my brackets
