  1. Calipari as coach without getting Lebron to come with might get me banned.
  2. I don't really see Texas's incentive to stay. The Big 12 doesn't have a revenue sharing program most conferences have. And Texas is sort of a cash cow in their athletic department. If Texas is looking to make a move I think academics is going to play a very large part of it. As I said earlier, the worst team in the Big Ten makes more than Texas.
  3. I hope we get to face more shitty pitchers like Dan Haren. The after-game thread posts are even worse than the knee-jerk during game posts. It's hilarious
  4. Well, even a good team is going to look piss poor over the course of a 162 game season, and lose to bad teams. Not that this is necessarily a good Cubs team. the problem is that by far the cubs easiest part of the schedule is right now and almost over. We are going to be having way too many "impossible" stretches in the coming months. If we can't beat the pirates nats and astros how are we going to fare against the cards and phils? A somewhat .500 team after playing this schedule makes me feel like we are dealing with an 85-90 loss team when all is said and done How many impossible stretches can there really be in this schedule? The NL sucks this year. What teams do you consider good? The Phillies, Cardinals, Giants, and Dodgers would probably be my top 4. I'm not sure any other team in the NL is even better than us. We're going to play like 40 games against really good teams.
  5. I don't really see Texas's incentive to stay. because they can beat just about everyone in the conference with comparative ease. I don't know how often they'd be a BCS team if they played in a tougher conference top to bottom. I'm relatively sure Texas would've been in a BCS game just as often over the past 5 years. The Big Ten sends 2 teams to the BCS virtually every season. And as far as getting the BCS payout, whether Texas makes it or not is irrelevant because the Big Ten splits their revenue.
  6. Have you ever considered that 2008 was a massive fluke year? hahahaha
  7. It's not that bad of a move. Marmol hasn't pitched in a while, and you want to keep it within 2. If the Cubs score 3 in the top half, you worry about the bottom half then. No reason to keep your best bullets in the chamber
  8. I'd imagine Wakamatsu/Jack Z called the meeting. Our management was too busy calling him a piece of [expletive].
  9. I don't really see Texas's incentive to stay.
  10. Well, melding the remains of the B12 with the best of the MWC would make a pretty decent conference. KU KSU OU OSU ISU Baylor Tech BYU Utah TCU New Mexico UNLV That conference sucks. Where is Texas in this scenario? The Big 10 with A&M and ND. Missouri defected to the MAC.
  11. We tried, the Mets were just that chokish
  12. I dunno. I'm worried about where we'll end up. Not a lot of people clamoring for the Kansas market. Kansas seems like it would draw a bigger market for the Big Ten than Mizzou would. Missouri brings you St. Louis and KC, and Illinois already brings in the St. Louis Market. Kansas brings you Kansas City, and better national exposure in basketball. What do you mean by bringing the market? Obviously there's coverage of the Big 10 in St. Louis with Illinois in proximity, but in terms of what is televised, the Big 12 gets all the regional coverage. I'm thinking BTN wise
  13. That's a really weird stance. Nobody's making you pay any attention to Bradley.
  14. That response is the polar opposite of what Chicago sportswriters would have written. I remember another player in this city who walked out during a game and he became a pariah. It helped that the team owner was releasing video to demonize him along the way. That whole situation still pisses me off even though we did get Dave Crouthers out of it.
  15. Oh yeah, there's not a chance in hell the Big Ten would take KSU
  16. Wow, the Mariners are in bad, bad shape if this part of the article is actually true: Bradley's last 7 days: .235 .278 .294 .572 The last 14 days: .286 .355 .393 .748 I checked out their BR page earlier. Something like a team 77 OPS+
  17. I dunno. I'm worried about where we'll end up. Not a lot of people clamoring for the Kansas market. Kansas seems like it would draw a bigger market for the Big Ten than Mizzou would. 18. He did fine with San Diego when he was traded for their stretch run. These are probably the lowest expectations he's had besides Texas and his early years in the league. Maybe he's just gotten old quickly. Maybe his issues have finally spilled over into his actual production. Maybe he's just slumping.
  19. because they might lose more often 8-) honestly though, I don't really see the incentive for Texas to leave a conference that pretty much already revolves around them (and Okie to an extent). Because Indiana football makes more money than them.
  20. why? because of the lower academic standards of the Big 12 schools (minus UT)? Mostly. I don't think they'd be too keen on either campus to open up to midwestern states like Kansas or Oklahoma, let alone allowing the Mormons in. It's long been rumored that Stanford shot down Texas's admission back in '94. Granted things have changed with regards to expansion, but I can't see that things have progressed that much to go from that to allowing in even half those schools.
  21. I hate Philly fans. I really do. I bet that dumb [expletive] wanted to see if he'd get tazered, too. I wish he would have. Careful Truffle might have to stop by to say how dignified Philadelphia really is.
  22. I have a hard time seeing Stanford or Cal signing off on that conference.
  23. Oh, and [expletive] Duchie Caray for her whoring herself out even more than usual with that blowing up of the Bartman ball [expletive] at Haray Caray's.
