    They did re-sign Peña, at least. Oh cool. I was figuring he'd get rostered for us at this point and was surprised at AZPhil's report he wasn't. Doesn't make much difference really. He can still be selected in the draft, but it is an expression by the team that they're wanted. Sure it makes a difference. Now a team has to store a mediocre prospect 26 year old on their 25 man all year rather than signing him and having 3 years to pinball him in and out of their pen.

    I don't see span as much more attractive than Jackson, so if this were somehow the choice, I'd take the latter. 100%

    Since it's a shoulder injury, and those are often the precursor to a pitcher's demise, he's presumed dead until proven otherwise. Plus ya, know, Cardinal.

    Lopes and Maddux are pretty good support staff for Washington.

    I don't think I've ever had waiver priority set by anything but record in a weekly league. Is this team that's out of the playoffs actually out of the playoffs or just way out of it at hte moment? I just improved to 2-7 and made a trade. We have 6/12 make playoffs, so I still have a miracle chance, and I've won the league before after making a trade at 1-7.

    High individual scorer gets a sidepot in my league. DeAngelo Williams going down at the 1(with minimal effort to get into the end zone, since a FG won it) left me 1 point shy.

    That was awesome. It's a smart move that players seemingly never do, if you're on 4th and you know your short of the 1st down, you cannot let yourself be tackled with the ball.

    I think a 1 loss Clemson team would now fall behind a 1 loss ND team. Their loss would be to too bad a team. Maybe they could stay above them if they lose in the ACC Title game to UNC, but I kinda doubt it.

    yeah that 5-time all-star and former cy young is mentally weak, but i guess one time he got a save in game 7 of the 2008 ALCS Jon Lester has some serious creds, and some people think he's mentally weak. Again, just asking, realized I would get mocked. But what's your take on why they pitched Price out of the bullpen in Game 4 of the ALDS -- in a situation where they didn't even need to -- instead of starting Game 5? Jed Hoyer told me he had no [expletive] idea what Gibbons was doing.

    Wasn't that basically in response to "David, do you think it would be special for the Cubs to win the World Series?"

    I don't agree that Edwards didn't fail into it(failure by inability to stay healthy) or that he could be converted back.(Ditto + 60 and ~50 innings the last 2 seasons.)

    I can't imagine Lackey couldn't get more than that on a 1 year deal, or close to AAV on a 2.
