  1. Yes, let's pour some out for brethren from Kankakee tedious If Tim's going to keep citing the numbers for Chicago metro to show unfair it is to Naperville that the Chicago Cubs play in Chicago, I think it should be pointed out what exactly the Chicago metro area is. Because Kanakee would be optimizing things for Chicago metro. Your point is well taken. Perhaps you should stop citing the 6 million number like it means [expletive] all then. ETA: Nothing says optimization like moving the team out of the center of those 6 million with something actually desirable nearby.

  3. Yes, let's pour some out for brethren from Kankakee I do not live in Kankankee, but Tim has a point. Going to Wrigley is a nightmare at times if you are driving in from out of town. Define out of town. Anecdotally, the Cubs probably get the most out of towners visiting their park in the country. But I'm sure they'll love the park built on a swamp in Momence too.

  6. Nobody's really arguing that, it's against the people who are saying hey Rosemont isn't such a bad idea!! Or maybe Skokie!! It's about time the suburbs got their fair share! I would love a new stadium, so I honestly don't think a brand new stadium in Rosemont is a bad idea, per se. It's not my ideal idea, but if that ended up happening, I would definitely be excited about getting a brand new park, which we couldn't do in the city. Why would you love a new stadium that will cost a [expletive] ton more money (from the Cubs directly) in a horrible location compared to re-habbing Wrigley?

  8. I think they should build 5 stadiums all 20 minutes apart in different suburbs, so everyone gets a chance to have a Cubs stadium by them, no matter how far from the actual city they live.
  9. We are the only ones that matter.
  10. It takes just as long to get out there as it does to Rosemont. Let's just play the games in Carbondale. They have at least a couple Amtraks a day running down there, that should be plenty. ETA: Tons of open land too
  11. Yes it did
  12. And that article sucked. Oh the tournament was pretty much straight RPI except for these 19 exceptions where it wasn't. I mean yeah, 21 teams with lower RPIs got in over Southern Miss and their mid-20s RPI, but you can imagine if they took them instead of Cal!! 14 teams with worse RPIs avoided the play-in game ahead of MTSU and St. Mary's, but let's pre-suppose that maybe they didn't? Duke #1 overall, give em a 2 seed! Indiana 10th, lock #1!
  13. I'm just glad Iowa discussion won't be polluting the NCAA tournament thread.
  14. Rosemont has been a smashing success for DePaul basketball
  15. Is he a Kentucky recruit or something?
  16. Why? NIT and NCAA have different selection committees. I thought in years past the 4 #1 seeds were the last 4 out. I may have completely made that up
  17. I filled out a KP bracket last night, Indiana's bracket is by far the worst by that measure. Illinois is the worst KP team projected to win a game.
  18. Iowa is a 3 in the NIT, so they weren't even close to making the tourney.
  19. Yeesh that's a lot of chalk my first run through. And I don't think having the Big Ten go 18-7 was really a great idea. Louisville OSU Florida Indiana Florida over OSU
  20. Seth Greenberg has 7 elite 8 spots taken by 1s and 2s(Florida was the other), then a final four of all 1s. Thanks for the contribution.
  21. They get bumped down one spot for bracketing rules.
  22. That was Gottlieb.
  23. Arizona 6, ND 7, Iowa State 10?
  24. So Ole Miss was probably out
