A park and a parking lot Depends on how they do the parking. If they were to build parking garages instead of an open parking lot, I would think they'd have room to build a few businesses. Maybe I'm overestimating the possibilities. Edit: Just an example, the Twins new Target Field is built on an 8 acre plot. Why couldn't the Cubs do something similar? It's a baseball team, they aren't going to be building an amusement park and car wash. I'm talking about restaurants, bars, team shop, etc. A new "Wrigleyville" area that is essentially owned entirely by the Cubs. What are the yearly revenues of the businesses directly surrounding Wrigley (that profit from the Cubs popularity) and what would it do for the Cubs to add that revenue to the club? Nobody wants to [expletive] hang out at bars in Rosemont, IL

This is an assertion without evidence. You're making Wrigley the sole reason that Cubs draw better than other teams for no other reason than the fact that it fits your preferred narrative. I'd love to hear a more plausible rival hypothesis. Anyway, there's plenty of evidence. Why do they continue to be one of the best draws on the road? Cubs tickets are a premium ticket in SD, or ATL, or Houston...they'd certainly have no problems in Rosemont. Speaking of assertions solely made to fit a narrative

A stadium butted up against an airport, minimizing access points that will choke access points from all those drivers parking in the huge lots and airplanes taking off or landing every 45 seconds would be a disaster and to suggest otherwise is idiotic. They'd still sell it out (when they are good). It'd be an undesirable logistical hairball, but that wouldn't decimate attendance as much as some here are saying. To me, a disaster would be if they only half filled the stadium on an consistent basis. Which if they're bad they'd be certain to do. Somebody mentioned golden geese earlier, and that's what the Cubs have. To pretend that we can just get ourselves a new golden goose because they'll have nice parking for us poor oppressed suburbanites is lunacy.

Pretty sure CBS does it for free through cbssports.com I believe each station that happens to be broadcasting the game is where you have to go online. (TBS, TNT, TRUTV)

It's a baseball team, they aren't going to be building an amusement park and car wash. They could do something similar to the Wrigleyville West thing that's happening at the new ST complex, though. ST games draw 8,000 people.

As I stated above, I don't believe the Cubs will move in the end. That said, if they were to move, I believe they could open up diverse revenue streams with 25 acres to work with. It may be an area that no one cares about now, but it's hard to argue fans wouldn't follow the Cubs to Rosemont. We're not talking about 25 free acres in Iowa. I don't know that I'd call it a [expletive] area that nobody cares about, anyway. Definitely not a great spot for a stadium, given the planes, but downtown Rosemont is actually pretty cool. Compared to downtown Naperville.

The grad school you transfer into can't be offered at your original school. Pretty easy to finagle, even the biggest schools don't offer everything.

I find it hard to believe the Cubs would move, but having the leverage can't hurt. That said, think of what the Cubs could do with 25 acres. They could build a whole lot more than a ballpark. Again, I'm struggling why the Cubs are supposed to care about having 25 free acres to build on in a shitty area that nobody cares about.

They might have to wait longer than that. 10 teams is ideal for basketball (18 games, true home and home with everyone). Yeah, I hope the new Big East sticks with 10. They won't, of course. SLU and Dayton are probably going to the Big East in '14-'15. I wonder why they preferred Creighton over SLU for the 10 team league. Creighton's been much better over the past forever and is the best program in their state compared to SLU

Apparently they have 3 open without considering early entrant players. So they would only need 3-5 early entrants. I count 13 on the roster with 2 seniors, any walk ons in that group?

SLU and Dayton are probably going to the Big East in '14-'15. Agreed. I think they actually have to go to 12 to get the full $600 million. I think it was $500 million if they remain at 10 teams. So they literally gain no money by going to 12.
