  1. I honest to God don't know how you can look complacent and impatient at the same time. But as I said previously in this thread, they've looked impatient all year, that's the type of offense they are. Piniella said it a week ago, that you're not going to change the type of team they are now, you want to change it, change it in the offseason, but don't be shocked that they're impatient in the losses, when they're impatient in the wins too.
  2. I sure as hell hope this wakes them up. I certainly hope they wake up from this awful funk they've been in this month. You know, you can call me out on the Chicken Little stuff, but are you honestly going to try to make the leap that from that post I meant the Cubs have been bad all month. Seriously. Then what do they need to wake up from? Did you think we were going to score 8 runs a game the rest of the year? Offenses go cold from time to time and there's not always great reasons for them.
  3. It amazes me how much so many people that have nothing to do with them revel in the Cubs failure. It's like picking on the mentally handicapped 6 year old down the block. Maybe its the JV jock mentality of most people having anything to do with sports, but it's just baffling to me.

  5. I have no problem with irrational thought in game threads. It's when the irrational thought becomes obnoxious and disparaging to people who don't buy into their irrational thought that I'm going to respond and call people out. The sad thing is, it hasn't even been that bad in here today. There's been game threads that I couldn't even stay in because you had 14 people racing to call out DPs every time somebody got on 1st base, and then when on their 6th prediction everyone raced to get out their LOLs. I just don't understand the entertainment value.
  6. We've lined out to Hermida about 18 times tonight.
  7. because they are playing beyond terrible. 3 baserunners, impatient hitting against a pitcher with a 1.60+ WHIP this season. Teams usually play pretty terribly in a good amount of the games they lose. It's the nature of baseball. There is no excuse for some of the things they have done tonight. Leadoff walk followed by Soto swinging at the second pitch almost at his shoes and grounding into a DP is one example. Cubs do that a lot in games that they win too. It's poor approach, but it's hardly a sure sign they're going to lose. It's what they've been doing the past 10 years.
  8. We need a couple here, and we have to get Willis out.
  9. Look, nobody said we're totally gonna win this game, Cubs are awesomest, gonna win the next 8 world serieses. They were just pointing out that you and others were being spazzes saying the season was over because of this game, and that there's no way we could possibly come back from an insurmountable 4 run deficit with only 7 innings to go!! Considering your track record on calling games over, smart money probably is still on the Cubs winning the game. But that's cool, you can crow about us drinking cubbie kool aid and how you knew this game was over and the team doesn't care/is complacent/went out partying/is too young/inexperienced/whatever cliche you want to use to say they won't win because of the uniform they're wearing. And hopefully there'll be a few game threads the rest of the year where people like me aren't here to call you out on your crap.
  10. I still can't believe that guy has a job. Leave it to the Cards :x Well he is their 3rd catcher. Lou pinch hits, good call. We need runs. That worked well. Can we put this post in the "What's so great about Premium Thread" What's so great about premium?? You can ignore crap like this!!!
  11. That was a horrible horrible call. If it was a strike on appeal, I could forgive it, that's just poor umping.
  12. I still can't believe that guy has a job. Leave it to the Cards :x Well he is their 3rd catcher. Lou pinch hits, good call. We need runs.
  13. The Score said earlier that Trachsel probably would NOT pitch on Thursday, but I only caught part of the report so I don't know what the story is there. Kevin Hart? Seems like a move Lou would make. Seems like a move most people around here would make. Or Marshall Or Gallagher Or not Trachsel.
  14. They should just forfeit the rest of the season. They're the Cubs, they'll never win anything because they're called the Cubs, and they wear red and blue, and goats.
  15. As much as I love Geo, that was really poor, it's a leadoff walk, you can't go hacking. Monroe is just hopeless.
  16. Go away. The game's been over for 3 innings, why you sticking around for the postgame.
