Is defensive efficiency calculated by fielding percentages? Just trying to figure out if maybe that has something to do with it... Don't quote me on this, but I believe defensive efficiency is the % of balls in play that are converted into outs. -

I never really could get the hang of backstroke with any sort of speed.

There's nothing better than an athletic body type. I'd kill to marry a volleyball/softball player. I like boobs to much, no swimmers/volleyball chics for me. That is a definite problem, though legs are much higher on my list of interests than boobs. I supposed that's why I like volleyball, softball and swimming chics. Motorboating some legs doesn't have as much of an appeal to me ;-) Ummm...yeah, I'm not commenting.

there's no point in catching them, right? Well its an assumed out. The runners must tag up to advance. What SSR is saying is that once in awhile its possible to catch someone off the bag, not understanding that an out was called, and you can double them off. what do you mean by assumed? iirc the batter is definitively called out, so theres no force. but if you drop it some moran may freak out and think they have to get to the next base. Yep, that's my thinking. Guys see the ball drop and they instinctively take off for the next base.

Anyone with some insight. I've always wondered this, and if its possible to intentionally swing at a wild pitch with 2 strikes and run to first. It's possible, but you've gotta be real quick on your feet to recognize that pitch is going to the backstop. I used to do the other thing you were talking about when I'd get IBBd in coed softball. Swing on the first 2 to go down 0-2 in the count. This was of course not baseball though. My thing is I think guys should let infield fly rule pop ups drop. I'd figure at least 5 times a year you'd have some dumb guy getting doubled off since they don't understand the rule. The homerun is an out rule around here really limits the amount of times I don't take a walk. HR is an out???

Beat me to this point. It actually worked out ok. You assume Dempster would come up and make an out. Now you hope Dempster pitches the 7th, then you leadoff with Fontenot next inning as the PH.

Could be overcompensating with the shoulder. I don't think he looked to be in too much pain, was more taking a precaution when he felt a twinge, but just cause it wasn't the elbow doesn't mean it's not an after effect of TJS.
