Ok, what were the good moves after good moves last year? How many moves does the Harden trade account for in the "good move after good move" quote? Name the rest of these good moves that were popular at the time he made them? Dempster starting? Yeah, that was met with excitement. Edmonds? My, oh my, how we clamored for him before he was signed. So in order for a move to end up being good, it has to be popular at the time it's made? No it's the standard defense for stupid moves. Bring up old unpopular moves(to varying degrees) that worked out, and call everyone morons for doubting Jim Hendry. -
He could always change positions for no apparent reason and go down to Daytona.

I understand that MSU/Iowa is a horrendous game, but I don't need to hear about Wake/Duke during it. I guess I should be thankful they're running this live rather than a replay of Duke/Wake from the backboard cam.

How do you figure? Who plays 1b? Were's the power off the bench? Thats not gonna happen, unless we add someone else. Then we can make a judgement on the bench. BECAUSE LOU PINIELLA WON'T GO WITH ONE BACKUP IF

I seen that a few times but I don't get how the bench is all that worse then last year. 08 Ward Johnson Blanco- Fontenot- Cedeno- 09 Johnson Miles Bako Gathright Hoffpauir/ F/A Fontenot/Hoffpauir or F/A- This is the one spot I have a concern about. But If Hoffpauir could do what he did last year for another 150 AB's we will be fine. This bench spots could get alot less AB's next year though. I personally don't think the bench was all that good last year. But I don't think we went from a good bench to a horrible bench with these moves. Micah Hoffpauir will be in AAA. Every spot on the bench will be downgraded except for Reed Johnson. That bench is brutal.

Marquette has played 1 team all year that is presently ranked. Let's hold off on crowning their ass. They've lost to an okayish Dayton team and a getting worse Tennessee team.

Then we'll have a feeble bench. going from Ward Fontenot Johnson Blanco Cedeno to Miles Bako Gathright Johnson/Fukudome Crappy middle infielder. Make one miss the days of Neifi Macias Walker Bako Hollandsworth I know. That's what everyone is pissed about. And if Fontenot hits like he did in '07, we're gonna be pretty mediocre and Kosuke doesn't turn it around, we're gonna be pretty mediocre.

I love how you can not mention your own team's success without mentioning the University of Kentucky. By the way, the firing of Tubby Smith has nothing to do with Billy Gillispie. I honestly believe that it was simply time for both sides to part ways. It remains to be seen whether Gillispie will equal Tubby's tenure or surpass it. I'm willing to give him more time. Tubby didn't exactly leave him with much. UK made the tourney last year with one of Gillispie's players contributing. The guy who scored 92 points in one game happens to be a Tubby guy.

what? how about, anywhere? Take an honest look at Marquis' stats, and then look at the back halves of rotations around the league. Anyone who is better than Marquis is not a scrap-heap starter and would have been snapped up ages ago. oh i agree that marquis was a fine 5th starter. a damn expensive 5th starter, but a productive one. the "where on earth are we going to find someone better than marquis" is absurd though and what i was responding to. Ok, tell me. Who's available that is a lock to be better than Marquis for cheaper than Marquis? Marshall has a pretty solid chance of being better, although I wouldn't call it a lock. I was under the impression he was talking outside pitchers.

Just because you keep saying Hoffpauir will be on the team doesn't mean he will be. Lou will not go with 11 pitchers early in the year, and he's not going to go with 1 backup IF either. Good thing we have Joey Gathright.

What a bad year for the mid-majors to be down. With Tennessee now on shaky ground, I have a hard time seeing the SEC get more than 3. Pac 10 will struggle to get more than 5, as will the Big 12. I really don't know where these bids are going to go. You've got Gonzaga/St. Mary's in the WCC. Utah/BYU/UNLV(none of which really have good resumes) in the MWC. Xavier/Dayton in the A-10 Then a bunch of 1 bid leagues that would get an at large if they choke in the tourney: Butler, Memphis, Davidson, Utah St.

I think the Big East is probably the best conference this year, but people just love ignoring that they have 4 absolutely pathetic teams at the bottom of their conference. Just because they're 13th-16th doesn't mean they don't count. USF, DePaul, Rutgers, and Seton Hall are all just about on part with the last place teams in every other conference.

Wake's making some horrible decisions with these quick possessions. I complained earlier about Weber running the clock down to 10 before running a play, but Wake is chucking with 25 seconds left. And lol at them showing the replay of Henderson flat out pushing down the wake defender, and Vitale ignoring it. Oh it's ok, Mike Patrick said Teague flopped.
