  1. 0-4 with four terrible at bats. Don't lead off DeJesus against tough lefties Dale!
  2. This is so frustrating. We are going to lose 2-1 in OT with Crawford letting in a softy
  3. Wow, I'm not going to be surprised or disappointed when you get a vacation. For what? Calling Soto fat?
  4. Yeah it coincided with his I'm fat and can't report to camp in shape Phase
  5. I still don't think you go with DeJesus (at least not lead off) against a tought leftie like "HiMe"
  6. When we lose tonight you can blame Dusty Svuem for leading off with DeJesus. Just stupid
  7. This is on the level of spy gate no? Seems very similar. But hey, the Saints survived Katrina and they'll survive this!
  8. ok, he's better than Crawford, but still he got benched this postseason, and think how bad he will be 4-5 years from now.
  9. This Luongo talk has to be a joke right? At this point he's probably not that much better than Crawford, and you want him for 9 more years? Seriously?
  10. Lol. The overwhelming Cub fan reaction to that trade...from what I read because I wasn't overly involved in the thread here...was atrocious. Never have I seen so much outrage over losing a few mid-20's bench options. It convinced me that prospects, as valuable as they are, can be ridiculously overvalued and smart FOs with money can take advantage of that. Here we see it in the case of Alex Torres being way too much for a 28 year old starting C who can it. Soto is 29
  11. I think there's a real disconnect of what people think Soto is worth, you are going to struggle to more than a top 6-7th prospect for him.
  12. Alex Torres + something right? I like Torres, but I'd hope for more with Soto. We are talking about a starting C who can hit... Seriously? We are talking the 4th - 5th best prospect in a loaded farm system. I was joking when I typed that even, you are not getting that for Soto.
  13. I'm thinking Soto for Alex Torres
  14. Another reason, I'm so glad Angelo/Ruskell are gone http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2012/04/tim_ruskell_said_bears_planned.html Really, Tim...an injury to Johnny Knox was the wakeup call you needed a #1 WR...smh :banghead:
  15. This. The level of elitism around here is ridiculous. You don't have to agree with the OP(I don't with his post), but immediately he get his arse jumped in the thread.
  16. So is it 9 years still left on that Luongo contract?
  17. What's Travis Wood up to these days?
  18. rob was saying he wished we'd held onto him until closer to the deadline; you seem dissatisfied with the trade for reasons that aren't completely clear. I have no problem with the trade; I'm just baffled by people who rag on a player like Byrd on the way out the door, doing things like calling him "a bum." Nobody can pretend like he's been anything other than awful this season, but I don't understand the meatballish tendency to trash a player like that. I love how you have taken this one word phrase I have used to describe Byrds current play(like Marlon Byrd actively posts here and will read this) and ran with it. Maybe you should offer up an orginal baseball opinion of your own for once instead of contantly going after everyone with your sanctimonious attitude.
  19. More like we only got a 25 year old failing prospect for an all-star with a respectable contract? Not really.
  20. Yeah, that was hillarious, he ran like three steps, then turned around to argue. Very odd.
  21. I will never understand sentiment like this. Why the [expletive] is he a "bum?" He was signed to a very team-friendly deal, always seemed like a good guy and unfortunately it looks like injury and age might have caught up to him, yet we've got meatballs like this acting like they got rid of some kind of horrible burden on the team. It's nothing really personal, he's just a bad baseball player now.
  22. A 25 year old pitcher will still plenty of upside for an aging bum like Byrd? Sign me up.
  23. It's time to hit reboot on the Ian Stewart experiment
