I have fun in them just because it becomes almost like a team competition and everyone pulling for each other. Yeah, I very much like that part. But, when I played my own ball all the time, we used to play 2 man Nasseaus (sp?) and that has a similar feel, just two guys instead of 4.

Playing in a scramble this weekend, then another next month. I used to hate scrambles. That's when I actually got to play all the time. Now I like them since I can still hit good shots, but have the touch of a blacksmith around the greens. I will help off the tee box, but someone on our squad better be able to putt.
  3. What possible benefit would the Cubs have for placing Z on waivers? teams do it to cover someone else they want to sneak through waivers O.K., thanks.

  5. Maybe he's funny when you're not around.
  6. The food or the jerseys? I can't decide which is more expensive.
  7. prescription drugs, '...including steroids for which one does not have a prescription.' A good number of steroid and HGH users get their stuff thru prescriptions from doctors who are 'doing them a favor'. Pettite would have had an out when the first memo came around. :D
  8. If Soriano had stayed at 2B his whole career...then I think he had a good shot.
  9. sportsline.com says Manny to Dodgers, Bay to Boston, prospects to Pittsburgh.
  10. DOUMIT and they'll have a lot more than that if they trade McLouth Why trade McLouth? He's still cheap production for a while, no?
  11. Yes, because I also heard that he was at the first game of the current series and was sitting in the front row, down the first base line, listening to the Brewer radio broadcast on his headphones. He jumped up and pumped his fist when Rickie Weeks went to make the turn on Derek Lee's double play ball. The motion distracted Weeks and sent the ball soaring off-line, right into the seat next to Bartman.
  12. This is true.

I used to tee off most par 4s with my old Hogan Apex 2 iron. It had a sweetspot about the size of a dime, but for some reason I always hit it well. Probably because I flat out knew that if I overswung it would be ugly. Too bad someone stole it, along with my other clubs. :banghead:

This exact method led me to play a big draw. It works. An old adage is 'facing your problem'- if you slice, you can line your stance up right of your target, but still look to the target. Most people will then naturally take the club back inside and pull it towards the flag, negating the slice. This is something I'll do in the middle of a round if the wheels are falling off (which they do often now that I don't play nearly as much).
  16. I love the Clemens story and enjoy watching him get busted. I don't like the Rocket. I don't like the Rocket either, but I'm also very curious to know the names on the rest of those receipts. They weren't all to the Rocket. Yeah, but some of those names might be people I do like. :(

  18. Aren't there high school players who just have it done to get it over with? I think I've heard stories like that in the past. Dr. Ben Kibler has an office in my town and consults for the Astros, and other systems. He often appears on local sports radio and talks about the growing number of high school pitchers who do it. I don't remember him flat out saying they do it without being injured just to get better, but he does insinuate that some are overly-aggressive in scheduling them in hopes of getting better if they have any arm troubles.
  19. Does Adrian Peterson's injury history scare you?
  20. Unfortunately, he failed to mention that Cincinatti players are some of the worst in the league. You evidently haven't heard him rail against Adam Dunn.
  21. A big reason this year is that when the Cubs and Reds played earlier in the season, an Adam Dunn homer went over the stands and 15 or so goofballs threw baseballs back on the field. It was dumb. However, Marty on his play by play said stuff like "this just proves what I've always said, Chicago Cubs fans are some of the worst in the league, etc."
  22. So, a pitcher walks a guy, then thinks to himself 'man, my k-bb ratio is not as good now unless I strike out three guys in a row.'? Hmm.
  23. Maybe he can adjust as well.
  24. Kerry values saves moreso than K to BB ratio. Oh well, I still like him.
