Respect your opinion, but I didn't come away from that story thinking that. If they are even considering a closer by committee approach for next year, that just tells me they don't want to spend money on a closer. B/c they are spending so much money on the roster elsewhere? Just tired of the lack of improvement to the big league roster. -

There's not going to be another radio station. WGN probably will get the Cubs for less. Any chance the Cubs can re-up for a one year extension for cheap? That way the contract will run out at the same time as the White Sox and WSCR. Would love to have the Cubs on the Score.

You're gonna need to walk me through the logic on that one. complete speculation, but i don't think theo and jed would choose wedge on their own. to me, a wedge hiring would say that ownership is meddling and wanted somebody with more experience to make it look like they're trying to win now. Why would the Ricketts meddle to hire Wedge? He probably doesn't infuse any excitement amongst the meatball fans

Yep, that's always the first thing that pops in my head. Sort-of related, I feel like a good way to test if you're dealing with a Cubs' die-hard (presuming they're old enough to have seen it) is to ask if they know who the three players in that rundown were. Random thing that only lunatics like us remember, I'm sure. best cubs gave i've ever been to. i wonder if the sportscenter video i uploaded years ago is still floating around online... I was at that game too. I think I might even still have the radio call saved somewhere. Craziest damn gave I'd ever seen. First and only time the 7th inning stretch conductor was ejected from the game, and then that final play. Holy crap. Was that when Steve McMichael got ejected by Angel Hernandez?

Agreed on all points BUT....they do (or did) interview Len Kasper every week and that alone was well worth listening to them in my opinion. Especially when you consider the alternatives if you don't have XM or Pandora in your car (like me). The afternoon guys on The Score have grown on me a little (HATE Boeres or however he spells it) but they are the best of the terrible alternatives. I really need a new car. You can get a portable SiriusXM device that plugs into your car outlet for around $30 not including the monthly subscription cost.
