  1. the cubs should think about scoring a run this inning. i was listening to the 2nd inning in the car on the way home, i'm seriously amazed i didn't crash my car in a fit of pure rage. this team is so annoying. i hope dero, lee, and theriot burn in hell
  2. at least we now know who's entirely at fault if the cubs lose in the playoffs.
  3. my albert pujols jersey and white sox hat
  4. I was just thinking about this argument the other day not that this has a lot to do with anything, but i saw corey hart's obp the other day and had to do a double-take when i watch him face a rhp with a decent slider i wonder how he made it to the big leagues. and when he faces bob howry's 90mph meatball fastball it all makes sense.
  5. youkilis had 2 more xbh than morneau. despite playing in 17 less games. THERE IS NO DEBATE
  6. GAH DEFEND THIS MADNESS POST HASTE HE WAS IN MONEYBALL the al was pretty weak this year, so pretty much any #1 choice can be shot down. defensively and offensively, i'd say pedrioa and youkilis had the best overall contribution to their team. since it was a tie, my #1 vote went to the player i personally like better. QUESTION FOR YOU. why do you have morneau ranked higher when youkilis has him beat in pretty much every stat category (except for rbi?) i only bring this up because i saw ken rosenthal pimping morneau for the mvp and it made me want to cry.

  8. I think the Dodgers and Mets are about equal. I think Cubs in 4. People on this board grossly underestimate Dodgers pitching. They are far and away better than the Mets in the pitching department. The Mets have Santana and a whole bunch of suck. The Dodgers rotation is almost as good as ours. We have the type of offense that could easily decided to sleep through the first 3 games and get swept. Same with the Dodgers and every other team in the history of baseball.
  9. Anyone who has posted 4000 times on a topic is emotionally invested in it. Not this time, I learned my lesson in 2007 and 2003. then you better just shrug your shoulders and go "ehh, it was a crapshoot anyways" if we win the world series. you're not allowed to celebrate. Why? I have the right to decide how I will feel about things, I would think. i guess. it's ridiculous, though, to sit through a 162 game season and be satisfied with being the best team in the regular season. the point is to win the world series, anything less is a disappointment. i personally invest all this time in the 162 game season for the huge payoff of winning the world series. it'd be even more painful this season, since last season we didn't deserve to be in, we were just luckily in a horrible division.

  11. unless my calculations are wrong, it's at 4.12 right now.
  12. i don't like the idea of zambrano vs. manny for some reason.
  13. maybe when you learn to not have the wrong opinion on everything.
  14. actually, he doesn't. http://blogs.tampabay.com/rays/2008/09/wfts-baldelli-r.html
  15. Who cares?
  16. i don't remember the year or date. it was in the mid 80's, and the cubs were playing the pirates and the cubs won. i don't remember any other details.
  17. it's kinda fun to make shea stadium silent after the mets have ruined our playoff chances so many times.
  18. this is good, just more reason for lou to leave howry off the playoff roster
  19. theriot is fine for a league-minimum making shortstop. when he starts getting pricey, though, the cubs should definitely look into upgrading.
  20. They're only 1 down in the WC and are playing the Pirates at home. i know.
  21. the brewers aren't making the playoffs even if they sweep us.
