  1. i dont want to be happy someone gets hurt, but i'm glad this ends the realistic opportunity we were gonna take that washed up hack north with us. Might as well just let Villanueva or Rusin make the starts.
  2. Alberto Cabrera looked good again yesterday... just sayin.
  3. Irrationally excited about him. Also was excited to finally hear how to pronounce his last name correctly. AL-Contra (like the game) not AL-can-tar-uh
  4. need more olt/baez fireworks please
  5. I think E and B are my favorite teams from that chart. That and the Illini. I like them too. :)
  6. I dont get the Szczur to AAA thing Raisin. I think he could use a bit more time in AA, and it seems the OF is set in Iowa with Kalish/Vitters/Jackson. Kalish seems like he's making the MLB team. Fair. If that's the case then the Szczur to AAA stuff makes sense.

  8. If it were up to me, at best, I would only have 1 of the 4 in, and at 30. I'm surprised how people seem to be so low on amaya now. yeah. This. Amaya is 2nd on my list right now behind Cabrera. I can't believe no one thinks these 2 are top 30 guys anymore.
  9. Also Paniagua is the highest of these 3 on my list, so i go with him. And my list was before the decent report from AZ Phil last week.
  10. I'd keep going. If the mechanics of the poll allow, maybe drop it from 48 to 24-hour polls, to keep it rolling faster? I would like to go to 50 again. So that we can start building a list of NSBB top 50’s to look at year to year. And I also think dropping to 24 hours would be a great idea.
  11. Cabrera Szczur Amaya I'll continue to bang the drum for Cabrera. :)
  12. i'd have both of these guys higher than 26/27 (but i've already stated my case on that and what's done is done), so for me.. Dunston>Torres by a hair.
  13. Paging the Armando Rivero bandwagon gatekeeper
  14. but in absence of it being 5 guys, i vote for Skulina and its not real close for me. I dont get the Contreras thing either. I have probably seen him play a dozen times and just don't see it.
  15. We can do that if more people feel that way. I was worried it would dilute the run-off to have 5 guys, each of whom would get a spot from 23-27 based on one vote. i kinda wished the run off was 5 dudes.
  16. I definitely do. The age part sucks, as does his performance last year, but the scouting reports were too glowing and he had too many decent excuses for the [expletive] numbers for me to knock him out of the top 30. yeah i have him right at 30. he's a guy i'm really interested to see this year. What a wildcard. Could be 10th or not ranked in the top 50 next year and neither would surprise me.
  17. thrown hard. OK. He works in the low 90s, and occasionally touches higher is what i've read. Thats nice. But "throws hard" as your #1 draw isn't good enough to be ahead of some of these other guys who have, you know, had success. What guys? For me, at least Dunston (has shown something), Cabrera, Leal (younger, and was pretty awesome in the ARL last year), Rosscup, G.Torres (I realize he also hasn't proven anything - but this one's a shot in the dark). I also like Skulina more, but i also tend to like college arms a little bit more.
  18. I don’t know if someone’s mentioned it yet, but Pat is calling new pbp guy Ron Coomer “Ronnie”. Its freaking me out everytime he says it.

  20. I don't know much about what he's done, only some vague memories that he has not really put it together yet. But it's more of a pedigree thing of youth, and being a second round pick of a good FO. That's about it. But as others have said, you could probably lump 10+ guys together. It's a mix of average fringe guys and some young guys who could show improvement and become something. Take your pick. Oh i did. I just don't get it with him. Its all still something someone saw in HS games/showcases 2 yrs ago. He's not in my top 30 anymore.
  21. What has Duane Underwood ever accomplished since being drafted to warrant being ahead of some of these guys?
  22. Javy should hit 1st 4th and 7th in that lineup
  23. Heh, that's kind of why I'm not voting for him in the top-30. He's been around forever, and should be as developed as he's going to get. But the developed version isn't good. If he's no good now, why should I think he's going to get good later? I see it. Like i'm saying. Gut feeling. Been wrong before. :)
  24. also, side note. i'm going to be wanting to vote for Erick Leal here within about 5 spots. I really like that guy. Seen a lot of clips on him and i like his arm action, his scouting reports, and how he struck out over a guy an inning as an 18yr old in the AZL last year. Raisin - You think he and Underwood headline the Boise rotation this year?
