  1. On Vizcaino doesnt sound good. I think he's ready for the glue factory.
  2. certainly a strong sign
  3. http://www.thecubreporter.com/09162013/2013-cubs-az-instructional-league-roster AZ Phil has the instructs roster up. Tseng, Jefferson Mejia, and Gleyber Torres are on the roster. Interestingly he said G.Papaccio, M.Malave, and B.Carhart are being converted to catcher.
  4. PPR League: Start two of Bowe, Colston, Edelman Obviously have to make that call tonight.
  5. Jacksonville is gonna have something to say about that. What, that they wished they had the #1 pick the Raiders are going to get?
  6. when do instructs start? I haven't seen a date this year (Arizona Phil has been quiet) but the instructional league games normally start around 9/20. hopefully he comes thru with reports again. Otherwise we mostly have no idea whats going on out there. Thanks for everything this season Raisin.
  7. thats true. Thats me and i got 4 tickets wherever i wanted for the ATL series
  8. got my call today. I think i'm gonna get em and try to get a few people together to buy blocks (i already know of 2 guys that would be in). Any advice or "dont do it's" from you ST holders around here? I live in Central Illinois so i know i can only make 20 at absolutely MOST but having my own ST has been a lifelong dream. Now seems the time to get in.
  9. http://i.imgur.com/yVyekdE.gif LOVE this gif. So appropriate
  10. Whoa. I think Blackburn > the rest of those pitchers.
  11. that was what I was wondering too. Pathetic.
  12. Fernandez 3.9fWAR, Puig 3.7fWAR. Rookie of the Year, like I said. :)
  13. Puig. GD it, I forgot about him. Would you believe me if I said that I'd still vote for Fernandez? No? OK then.
  14. Castro is hitting .500 in September.
  15. If he blows away the AFL, it becomes a non zero chance, in my opinion, of him being in our Opening Day lineup. Even with our FO being extremely cautious. I just don't see any way he doesn't start the year in AAA. There's too much to be gained on multiple levels. He may come right up in May after continuing his dominance in Iowa and postponing FA, but no way on Opening Day. This just isn't true. A long shot? Yes. Zero chance? Absolutely not. I mean, we can hold up a Lloyd Christmas type chance if we want to be really pedantic, but I haven't seen a single reason that Baez would be there on Opening Day in the face of the reasons not to. Service time being by far the most important, but also exposing him to some more quality breaking pitches at AAA, where Brett Jackson's face plant isn't so long ago that we should forget it. It also buys time for Baez to work on another position or to best determine what's going on with Castro. There also isn't an extreme urgency to add him with guys like Valbuena and Barney able to guarantee "not-replacement level" production around the infield, at least for 5 weeks. What compelling reason is there in the face of all that, that makes Baez's presence on Opening Day at all likely? Different front offices sure, but I doubt anyone expected Jose Fernandez to break camp this year, but he did, and he's gonna be your NL Rookie of the Year.
  16. late to the party (been away all weekend), but no i dont really think that. I was just being sarcastic, half-bitter. I don't want him selling tickets. Also don't want him anywhere near this team next year unless its taking his start every 5th day in Des Moines.
  17. I want him to sell tickets or something like that next year to pay the team back for the 5.5M he stole.
  18. I hope they can re-sign him to a reasonable deal next year after paying him 5.5 million to rehab. after taking 5.5M and giving us zilch, he should pitch next year for free as a token of good faith.
  19. Good talk bud
  20. Olt's probably gonna come up in September and get some starts right?
  21. if there are 18 better prospects in baseball than Baez, then I must not know jack [expletive] about baseball.
  22. He was on the Rangers' 40-man roster, so they can't just add him as a PTBNL at any time. I don't know how it works procedurally though, if they just let other teams know that this is a PTBNL so that he doesn't get claimed by anyone else before it gets to the Cubs. cool, thanks.
