  1. how the eff does claiming a guy on waivers "complete a trade"
  2. Baez to Chicago the second he passes the year-of-control date at the end of April. I'm thinking this is gonna be the case.
  3. sometimes when things are just going bad, the line drives dont get thru. Rizzo's going thru this now.
  4. They've done that with the system, and its awesome, but now its time to get the wheels in motion. Ticket prices are up, attendance is down, it's time to compete. I'm tired of the excuses. This needs to be a much more competitive team next year. It should be, but we as fans need to see it. And also, it's not our job to present detailed plans. It's theirs. As others have said, add a piece like Ellsbury/Choo, add another pitcher, overhaul the bullpen (as kyle has mentioned, this might not be that hard, especially with the internal options we have that haven't even hit the bigs yet), and go from there. But they need to do it. Not even asking for a detailed plan. There's also only so much they could do. They didn't have a lot of valuable assets to work with at the time, so it's not like they could have gone out and pulled a Blue Jays/Marlins type deal. The free agent market has been, to put it mildly, [expletive] the last few seasons. I don't really see how they could have drastically improved the team these last few years through throwing money around. I'll absolutely be upset if they cry poor this off-season and don't go out and sign anyone, but as of right now, through this season, I don't see how they could have produced a winner given the resources and restrictions they inherited. OK. I think we're after different things here. I dont have a problem with the process up to now. I will have a problem if they punt on 2014 and turn their gaze to contending in 2015.

  6. It might be, but that would have to only be by choice. Because it could open next year if they wanted to try and open it. How do you think they should do that? Actually try this year and stop crying poor. Do stuff along the lines of what was said above. thank you, this.
  7. You think they could do the same with Leal? I know he's younger, but he's been even more dominant. To be honest, I doubt either skip Boise given the number of 2013 college draftees who will be in Kane County next year. Torrez is more likely to get the double promotion because his stuff is better (and yeah, he's older). I swore I read that a lot of those college draftees will start at Daytona next year (or that was the thought).
  8. this thread is full of #want
  9. Nice Gotta assume Struck will get to start there. Maybe Figueroa goes back to the pen?
  10. I'm not. He hasn't been good since parts of 2011. Up until this year, he's shown ability to miss bats. When talking about relievers, thats what i care about. Just looking at the TN roster I can find at least 2 other pitchers i think should have been cut loose before Rhoderick. Again, not saying he was a great prospect. He walked WAY too many. Just think he wasn't the lowest hanging fruit that deserved to be whacked if there was a roster crunch.
  11. Jokisch off the DL tonight to start. Rhoderick released. Kinda surprised about the latter.
  12. which undoubtedly won't be played. i win. Eff the FSL.
  13. which undoubtedly won't be played.
  14. Pat just called Logan Watkins "Logan Atkins" twice in a row. I think he's losing it.
  15. really remember being like 7 and wondering why we kept putting out Paul Noce out there. Sure would be nice to beat these corks once in this series.
  16. Yep. I love prospects as much as the next guy, but i'd rather just win games and have something to build off of heading into 2014.
  17. Thanks for gettin thrown out at third today [expletive].
  18. I think he needs to be bumped to Daytona. Rivero was just promoted to Daytona. how'd you manage to get em convinced Raisin? :)
  19. that time for tennessee/b'ham should be 11A, correct?
