  1. anyone care to give a quick synopsis of what the blackhawks chances of retaining Bickell are? I know he's set to get a good payday, i know little about their cap status/money under it. I assume Stalberg and Emery are gone, but would like to retain Bickell. Would love someone to take Montador too while we're at it.
  2. 1. Baez 2. Almora (almost have him 1) 3. Soler 4. Bryant 5. Alcantara 6. P.Johnson 7. Vogelbach 8. Candelario (still believe) 9. Lake (his bat's gonna find a home somewhere) 10. A.Vizcaino (hardest to place) 11. A.Cabrera (someone coudl put him 8 and i wouldn't argue) 12. Villanueva 13. Szczur (perfect 4th OF) 14. Underwood 15. Blackburn 16. Zastryzny (as previously noted, i'm lower on him than most, I believe) 17. Paniagua (complete shot in the dark) 18. Amaya 19. W.Contreras 20. Hendricks 21. Torreyes 22. JH Ha 23. Hannemann 24. Dunston (I like him a good deal) 25. Geiger 26. M.Hernandez (I don't get the love) 27. Maples (and falling) 28. D.Torrez 29. T.Masek 30. Watkins
  3. We would still have 5 OF if he had to be DL bound
  4. Now we're stuck with a 2+-win outfielder on a team-friendly option for 2014. #failedintoawin Absolutely
  5. Santana got a low 6 figure bonus in 2010, Rodriguez got $120,000 in 2011, Leal was the big name in the Campana trade and Torrez was the only Cub prospect to make BA's top 20 DSL prospects list in 2012. I gotta imagine Anthony Prieto will start too. He was a higher pick last yr outta HS IIRC.
  6. Well played Mr Baez, well played.
  7. Essentially identical to his year-end line last year. To you, is that a good sign, a bad sign, or are you just noting that?
  8. Disagree, his ceiling is a #3. I don't agree with that - but I think we'll see. I'd put Cabrera and Vizcaino ahead of him for sure..maybe Hendricks (although i admittedly might be higher on him than most and don't think he's a reliever only at this point). And Paniagua's obviously the big wildcard. And then you think about Duane Underwood. Is his upside higher than Z's? I'd say yes. Is his floor lower? For sure. I guess it depends on your personal taste for upside/floor when you rank. Why do you think he's no better than a 4? Low 90s FB, potential plus change. He needs to develop the breaking pitch to become a #3 level starter. "potential" plus change. "needs to develop breaking pitch". Only recently "touched" 95 in the SEC tourney. Just a little hesitant on the late helium on this guy. We'll see. Seems like a lot of things would have to break right for him to get there..which we can say for Maples, Underwood, Paniagua, etc. Whereas Cabrera and Vizcaino have the same upside if things break the same way for them, and they're a heck of a lot closer to the show. Just my take.
  9. hilarious. He's right.

  11. Toonster, like your list a lot, with one exception - the 2nd round pick this year. Everything about him screams #4 starter at BEST, and he's not made one pitch professionally yet. In my mind, he's not top 15.
  12. I'm with ya. I'm seeing that # being a lot higher than 21.5.
  13. Hope it isn't anything serious for Contreras. wonder what an "inactive list" means.
  14. Every Pierce Johnson Day, I hope that its his last start in Kane County. It's time to push him up, I think.
  15. what an effin troll. Go away Will Carroll.
  16. Guessing likewise for Suarez. Actually, I think these guys are now just organization guys who can get bumped up and down when there's a roster need. ...and usually those guys are the first ones to go when the waves of promotion come. I think a little more of Chen than that, but you can't argue with his lack of results in 600+ plate appearances in Low-A.
  17. Would have preferred Francescon to Kirk. I'm guessing this might be a sink or swim assignment for Chen, much like I think it might have been for Rymel, and Antigua over the weekend. A promotion to the upper minors to prove what you've got before more bodies get here in a month and people get released.
  18. So, April vs May: April: .313, 7 2B, 3HR, 30 H, 24 RBI, 10 BB May: .307, 8 2B, 3HR, 31 H, 23 RBI, 11 BB That's...almost freaky. yay consistency! That is pretty nuts, though.
  19. looks like a 3rd inning Vogelbomb (8th of the year) too.
  20. Yeah, Iowa's pitching has shuffled some of late. They hauled up Antigua to bridge the gap, I'd assume.
  21. Javy does whatever the **** he wants.
  22. Pat and Keith going all old guy again, talking about some 60 year old song and repeatedly calling it a "tune". Argh.
  23. If it was, it was money well spent, as I really think Soler's going to be a star.
