no, if you want to be an average team. The Phillies have been to the World Series two years in a row. Pedro Feliz was their 3b then and Polanco is their 3b now. Average production at one of the two positions and they are still a great offensive team, by my book anyway. The were a great offensive team in spite of the production at third. Why would you settle when you could significantly improve? There are a lot of third basemen out there this year. -

I agree with VT, but I like the under 118 even more. Iowa is 330 in pace this year and VT is 283.

Building a jumbotron would keep Wrigley from being a dump? Jumbotrons suck in every stadium. Once you get one you are one step away from playing Journey and Bon Jovi in between every inning.

Is it really too much to ask for the commissioner of the league to realize that one league has two more teams than the other? I can understand fans not grasping this, but the supposed leader of MLB should know this by now.

The picture accompanied and article about how the team was driven to make the Final Four in Indy this season. Eyes on the prize. That's just plain sad. I'm proud of the 32 NC and have mentioned it to friends before when they say we've never won one but I sure as hell wouldn't be using like this. It's not really something to brag about. It's cool and nice but doesn't mean much to any other fan base and most of the time I mention it they laugh. Judging by what is in your signature, I would have a hard time saying anyone else's is "just plain sad".

They probably won't, but they should. No, they really shouldn't. You don't get offered a month of practice to help develop players and just say "no thanks". not to mention the money that the school gets from the bowl game can go to other athletic programs, and you'd be turning down a bowl in the midwest that your fans could very easily go to. plus they'd be filling up a stadium in a region where the economy is in the toilet. but by all means, turn it down because it's "below notre dame football" to play in that bowl. Notre Dame would probably lose money accepting a bid to that game.
