  1. GHETTO Tourney. Broken rim with no replacement. Tried to fix the rim with duct tape. The guy trying to fix it was asked for a new rim, and he replied "I'm not with the venue, I'm the parking guy." Awesome.
  2. Alright DePaul, time to take your beating. Koshwal... you chose poorly.
  3. Tobias Harris signs with Tennessee. Same guy who's been saying that for months has also said that Tennessee is secretly back in it for Selby. Next year will see several frosh playing a huge role for Pearl and the Vols.
  4. I agree with TVC, 7-5 is not just likely it's a must for Tennessee, seeing Tennessee is on the outside looking in right now. Tennessee should and will beat Vanderbilt, but the Kentucky game should be a heckuva game. One I am looking forward to seeing. I think Tennessee will steal Kentucky's spot in the bowl, by winning that game. Longest winning streak in FBS for one team over an opponent (24 years), so I feel pretty confident. I don't think UK has the talent to beat UT, even if it runs the wildcat offense, which has given Monte some trouble. I'd be happy to be in the Outback, though I won't be thrilled with a Wisconsin matchup again.
  5. Not terribly concerned with Vandy, especially since Kiffin will absolutely have the team's attention after the Ole MIss Massacre. Glad he kicked Nuke and Edwards off the team today. Hope everything with Jackson is resolved soon. 7-5 is an absolute must if we want a Chick-Fil-A appearance. And honestly, that might get UT into the Outback because the SEC is so top heavy. UF and Bama will be in the BCS Bowl(s). LSU/Ole Miss winner to the Capital One, the other to the Cotton. Auburn,Arkansas, Georgia, and Tennessee are all likely 7-5 teams, and I think the Outback takes Tennessee in that case.
  6. Will never happen. The Pac-10 is still a basketball conference first, and what do those teams add to the conference? Honestly, not much.
  7. This is such BS and you know it. You are being naive if you believe that Jackson was "unaware of what was happening", considering the fact a witness says they heard him say, "let's go." Furthermore there are rumors that one of the players was still wearing his Tennessee gear at the time of the robbery attempt. So if you don't mind I am going to enjoy this story, because when Jimmy Johns was arrested for dealing crack at Bama, I didn't hear the end of it. Saban threw the kid off the team before you could say "yo", and yet Tennessee and Auburn fans kept harping about how Bama was housing criminials. So, (with apologizes to dew) I think I am going to enjoy the story. Yep, typical. Bama has been on probation for, what, 17 consecutive years now? NCAA record, btw. By all means, deflect to Auburn and their mistakes. Yes, Mike Edwards was wearing his "Impossible is Nothing" sweatshirt. What's your point? FACT: Edwards and Richardson were the two identified by the victims as the two who came to the car. FACT: Jackson was inside during this. FACT: Jackson came up to the car and told the other two "let's go," effectively ending the attempted robbery. Is it possible that Jackson is in big trouble? Oh yes, and if he's guilty, I hope he's kicked off the team. Heck, I want Nuke and Edwards gone tonight, and both are considered big parts of the future of TN Football. So, enjoy it if you want to, but it isn't going to make even the slightest difference to me.
  8. So he's had 3 alcohol/drug incidents in a little over 2 months and he was still playing this week? Yeah, that should've read 2- not 3, and this would have been the 2nd. All 3 have been released and the victims are saying that they don't want any charges pressed, and that all 3 should be allowed to stay on the team. I disagree with that. At the very least, I hope Nuke hits the bricks. Kid is nothing but a punk, and his talent is not worth the headache. Head back to Pahokee, kid.
  9. Edwards did not play, but Janzen Jackson was a guaranteed Freshman All American. If you don't keep up with Tennessee, you might find this hard to believe, but he'd have made losing Berry not hurt much at all, though he was more head-hunter than ballhawk. Kid was an absolute future 1st rounder, and was a starter. If you remember the UT/FLorida game, Jackson nearly killed Brandon Jacobs in the end zone on a pass play, and his big hit caused the first fumble in the South Carolina game. Nuke was a highly regarded prospect who has been nothing but trouble since he stepped on campus. What really sucks about this is that both Nuke and Jackson switched their commitments on NSD and signed with Tennessee. Jackson (a 5* from Louisiana) was committed to LSU and switched to Tennessee, while Nuke was committed to Florida and signed with UT instead. They were HUGE recruiting wins against in-state powers. This just blows, but god riddance to all 3. No room in this program for punks like this.
  10. Well, Saturday's game against Ole Miss just got much more difficult. 3 Tennessee freshmen were arrested late last night after robbing 3 other students suing an airsoft gun. Nukeese Richardson, Mike Edwards, and (damnit, just damnit) Janzen Jackson were all arrested and will be charged with a Class C felony, and if convicted could face 3-6 years in prison. Jackson, in particular, had a golden ticket. Surefire first round NFL pick, and has 3 drug/alcohol related incidents in his first semester. One that will end just about any hope he ever had of playing in the league. Stupid, stupid kids. UPDATE: Jackson may have al charges against him dropped, as it's being reported that he not only did not attempt to rob anyone, that he may have been unaware of what was happening, because he was in the convenience store at the time it happened, and he stopped it when he exited. Silver lining.
  11. omg, haha What else would you call claiming referees are being bribed without proof? A Bama fan is the ONLY fan in the entire conference that would ever in a million years actually defend SEC officials. While you two are bickering over redflash's mastery of the written word, I'll just throw this out there. Last Saturday's replay official, Gerald Hodges, lives (of all places) in Knoxville, TN. Both his step daughters are grads of Tennessee and are good friends of mine. I hardly know Gerald, though I know his family well. I do know him well enough to know that he was not "on the take" and that he is not a Bammer. Despite appearances to the contrary, I think it was an honest mistake. Based on what you could see on standard definition (and I'll admit to not watching that game in HD) it would have been very, very tough to overturn the call. That was a play that replay could not overturn either way, in my opinion. And keep in mind... I HATE Alabama. There is no other team on earth that I hate as much as the Repeat Serial Violators. If college football were an olympic sport, and Bama represented the US, I would cheer for every other country in the world. True Story.
  12. Any team that wears black tops with black pants automatically sucks. No sir. Black on Black is great, especially since the black tops and bottoms both have a lot of yellow and gold in them as well. Now, the Saints all black unis are ugly because they are all black except the little French emblem thing (whatever it's called) and the numbers. It would be hideous if the helmets were black. fleur de lis.
  13. Some are interesting, some are terrible, and then there is Texas. What's really all that different? I haven't looked incredibly closely at them, but I don't see much different than their current unis.
  14. BS. Kid yapped off when he had no reason too. Of course Weis knew they didn't make in-game adjustments quickly enough, but the defense is controlled by Brown and Tenuta. If he admitted that they'd been out-schemed, he'd be tacitly approving of Williams' [expletive] comment and throwing his defensive coaches under the bus. Weis should have addressed that comment privately with Williams instead of trashing him to the press, though. BTW, Williams was right. Navy's coach's saying that they basically attacked ND the exact same way they did last year was pretty damning of Tenuta, whose defenses have been awful. The only good defense ND has had since Weis got here was Corwin Brown's in 2007, so naturally he demoted him after one season. And it's not even that he said they attacked them the same way, but that they attacked ND's prior year game plan. In other words, "we don't think they'll adjust at all and will try to do the exact same thing they did last year." And, for the 2nd time in 3 years, it worked. When you're a kid who knows that the talent around you is much better than the talent across the line from you, I can imagine the frustration you must feel. and if you can't stop yourself from venting that frustration to the press, you're not going to last long at nd (and lots of places, I imagine). besides the defense gave up 21 points, so they didn't exactly lose the game alone. And there were numerous missed assignments where players were in position and just ignored their assignment to attack the football. That will kill you against navy. ND was too slow to fix the scheme, but they were still in a position to win. Williams was completely out of line for his comment. I have no problem with Weis calling him out for that. I'm certain they had a 1-1 to discuss it and Williams hopefully learned from it. I'm not saying Williams should have said what he did, but Weis has no excuse for responding the way he did. I agree with whoever said it should have been handled in private. I can't wait to see how this all plays out on the recruiting trail, provided Charlie still has a job in January.
  15. Bump to find another owner, maybe two.

  17. For the record, Charlie Weis is a total douchebag for his treatment of his NT. Talk about throwing a kid under the bus, and all because you're too arrogant to admit that you're not the genius you thought you were. Anyway, Big 10 fans... if you had to guess today, what do your top 3 Bowl games/teams look like? Rose, Cap One, and Outback? I'm stil seeing Wisconsin slated for the OUtback by some folks, but I thought that was pretty much an Iowa/Penn State lock at this point.
  18. Never say never. From no votes whatsoever to #31 in the AP in two weeks. Stranger things have happened. Truth is, UT does not deserve to be ranked. But, looking at the past 4 games, they are playing as well as maybe the best 20 teams in the country. Again, I;m not saying they are one of the top 20 teams, but they've played that way in their past 4. Win out, and they get Iowa or Penn State. Win that, and I'd have to believe they finish in the top 15-20, which is miles ahead of where anyone expected them to be.
  19. Tennessee vs. Ole Miss for a possible spot in the Top 25. Ole MIss is the early favorite (-3.5), but I cannot believe that Houston Nutt can outscheme the Tennessee staff. No way.
  20. What I loved about it was that it was your proverbial "trap game." But the coaching staff was having none of it, telling the team through the week that they were going to go for it on 4th downs, they were going to try some trick plays, they were going to try an onside kick, and that they would continue to throw, regardless of score. Kiffin said he wanted to communicate to the team that the coaches weren't taking this game lightly, and neither should they. On a down note, I think Poole is done. "He wasn't right, so I sent him in" is what Kiffin said. Something tells me that Poole will be a Yellow Jacket next year. Next up, Ole MIss.
  21. Oh, and Petros Papadakis is much better as a radio host than he is television broadcast announcer. He's hard to listen to.
  22. is this hosak? we've got a fake meph already and now a fake hosak, great. ? I'm a Tennessee fan, so of course I love watching Bama lose. And who-besides Irish fans- doesn't love to see them lose? Which of those teams do you love?
  23. I love watching Notre Dame lose. You're next, Repeat Serial Violators... er, I mean Bama.
  24. And Jimmy Clausen may have just gotten his jaw broken.
  25. Wow. Northwestern, Navy, and Stanford are making this a day to remember.
