  1. Gotta love blue blood kansas fans trolling a rebuilding Purdue team. Not a whole lot going on in your life I guess.
  2. Hammons from Purdue has awareness issues as well. Multiple times I've seen much smaller guys come up and just take the ball out of his hands or smack it out when he's making moves in the paint. Other than that I've been really pumped watching him play. 9 points and 6 boards as a true freshman is great production for a big man. I'm looking forward to seeing him in B1G play.
  3. Speculation around here is that he was abou to take the CU job but pulled his name out because he felt he had a shot at Tennessee, Wisconsin or both. My guess is one of the two expressed interest in him. I'm hoping it's not UT. Yeah, I'm glad he didn't end up at Purdue.
  4. People have already brought up Johnny Majors and Bill Battle and a popular idea is to imitate K-St and bring back Fulmer. People have no clue what's going on right now. Is Butch Jones trying to cash in down there? He's officially turned down Colorado now, but hasn't told Cincy he's coming back. Sounds like he's waiting on the highest bidder.
  5. Pomeroy has them at 96th overall and projected to finish 16-15 and 8-10 in the Pac 12.
  6. lol edit: they would be 13th in the A10 based on Pomeroy
  7. What about the A10?
  8. Ok looks like it is official now Hazell to Purdue.
  9. GBI reporting that Hazell has told his players he's NOT leaving for Purdue. We're offering him a $2M ish raise supposedly so I'd say someone else is bidding. I can't imagine Kent St is going to cough up $2M. I wonder if Bucky called?
  10. Sure, but there is a much stronger chance that he loses in the SEC, especially since Ark isn't one of the top recruiting draws and I don't think BB's recruiting skills have been all that special. I don't know. I'm sure it was the money but looking at the long term it seems like a lateral, high risk move to me. Maybe he just doesn't like it here anymore. I'm hearing rumors that Alvarez might coach the Rose Bowl Yeah, how well did BB actually recruit? The Wisconsin brand recruits lineman and running backs by itself practically. Getting Russell Wilson was great but did he facilitate that or was the opportunity just right for Wilson?
  11.    Wow, terrible.
  12. Where are you seeing Hazell is official? edit: the only 'official' claim I've seen is from the Hammer & Rails blog which is a nutjob that filmed himself crying after Purdue lost a game last year and posted it to the web.
  13. Looking more and more like Darrell Hazell to Purdue. I'd be happy with that hire, 6 years at Ohio St and MAC Coach of the Year in his second year. Especially considering it was at Kent State. He's relatively young, he knows the midwest, and the B1G.
  14. Bielema was making $2.5M and was the 17th highest paid coach. I wonder what Arkansas is coughing up?
  15. Chryst would go back in a hearbeat.
  16. Oh man, this is going to be great up here. 3 Rose Bowls in a row and he ditches Wisconsin.
  17. I'd be floored if that happens. The job is toxic. All media accounts I'm reading are that he stays in Cincy (in a dying Big East) or goes to Colorado.
  18. What's Little Lick up to these days?
  19. You've made it abundantly clear that you can make baseless and biased claims. He's right in this case. Rolando McClain didn't even get a vote in 09 with credentials that are just as good as Teo's. Unanimous All American, Butkus Award, undefeated season. Golden Tait did get votes in 2009 though, first place votes even...
  20. Any team is too strong, but very very few.
  21. I like him and also my pick. A lot of people wants Butch Jones around here in West Lafayette from what I've heard. I live a couple mins from campus and went to school there. My only problem with Purdue athletic is will they pony up the $$$ for coaches/asst coach/recruiting/etc... as they're super stingy about it. They finally did that for Painter when he signed for his new deal a couple years ago. I think there's a sizeable group of Purdue fans more concerned about being publicly snubbed by Jones than about getting the right guy. I agree we're known for being cheap and that's too bad (but true). Hopefully Daniels is influencing this hire. He's smart enough to know how important a successful football program is. Plus we've got new money coming soon with the new BTN TV deal. Yeah... I also know a lot of people who don't care who the next coach is as long as he's better than Danny Hope (plus being a good recruiter is big with the people I know). I do know that Daniels is "indirectly" influencing on the hire (doesn't start his job until next month). He was at the Purdue-IU game and was actually at the same tailgating party as I was before he went into the game. Did hear him say the BTN deal will be big for Purdue. He was pretty tight lipped about everything and whenever he said something, it was vague. Everything vague, lol. Like a true politician! I'm really pumped he'll be our President though.

  23. That's be a good hire for them. Yeah, considering the state of their program. I guess a lot of Purdue fans are high on him and we've offered him our job. I'd rather he go to Colorado. Who do you want for Purdue HC job? From what I've been reading about him the last couple days, DeRuyter.
