Seriously? How much playing time has Gilbert had in his college career? Thrust into a game he hadn't mentally prepared for against one of the top (if not the top) defenses in the country. Texas isn't a running team... Oh yeah, and it's the national championship game...
Man, those are some sour [expletive] grapes. well, it is a sham title... eeking out a victory as a heavy favorite and the underdog loses (by far) their most important player almost at kickoff... How is that Alabama's fault? They knocked him out of the game. This perception of big games always confuses me. It's not their fault they knocked McCoy out of the game. It's the fact that they should have rolled easily after knocking him out. Texas had the ball down only 3 with 3 minutes left. I'm a Purdue and Big Ten fan, so I really could care less... just saying...

Kelsey Barlow is really starting to develop (decision making, passing, etc.), compared to the first couple games of the season. Obviously he's far from being a top notch player, but you can see moments.
I agree on Spilborghs, and Hendry will probably find a way to pay Calero 6-7M over 2 years. If he signs Podsednik I probably won't be watching much Cubs baseball next year anyway.
I'm a little surprised Purdue didn't get jumped by Syracuse after they beat Florida and Purdue was shaky against Alabama (albeit on the road). 4 is the highest they've been ranked in more than a decade. Also interesting to note they're the only team in the Top 5 to not have a first place vote. I don't think they deserve one, just saying. If they can both stay undefeated, WVU @ Purdue on New Year's Day should be a fun game to watch.
Very similar to the Illinois-Clemson game a couple weeks back. Yeah, that's what I was thinking when they finally go the lead back. Almost turned it off, glad I didn't.
