I do think there is some complication concerning that. Walking in on something like that would be incredibly traumatic (obviously not to the level that the child is experiencing), it could be compared to walking in on someone's head getting shot off or something that so people would react differently depending on the situation. I can kind of see why he didn't physically intervene. That said, I would hope that at least you process what is going on and what you just saw, you would tell someone other than your father or your boss (aka the police) Yeah, I can see your point. Sometimes people stop functioning correctly when they see something that traumatic.

If you walked in on a man raping a child, wouldn't you physically intervene? Or, if afraid for your own safety, at least immediately go call 911?

He wasn't told that, and Sandusky had been retired for three years. [expletive], just because the GA didnt' spell it out in detail doesn't mean Paterno couldn't grasp that the GA had seen something terrible. He burried his [expletive] head in the sand because he didn't want to tarnish his (or the program's) image. He didn't ask questions, he didn't follow up, he didn't want to know. As a result more children were molested. Either that or Joe Paterno is just a stupid senile old man.

Whoever is calling this Purdue exhibition game makes the Ball State 'boom goes the dynamite' guy look calm and collected. It's unbelievable. They're calling players by numbers instead of names, tripping over their words, and the girl sounds like she has a speech impediment.
