  1. Buzzer beaters are dumb. You should get the shot up with just enough time to get a put back. See Kobe's ability to miss a game winner bad enough and with enough tick for artest and gasol to get it back up in the 2010 playoffs.
  2. I think the days of being a consistantly efficient scorer (relative to the absolute elite of the NBA) are over for Rose now that he shoots 5 more 3s a game than he did in his second year when he seemed like DWade 2.0 without the extra free throws. I dont care, he played a good game last night regardless of the fg%. If prime kobe can get finals MVP going 6-30 in a game 7 at home, then Derrick can go 8-22 almost triple double and hit a buzzer beater on the road against a good defence.
  3. No he didnt. He scored 8 or 10 points in the final 2 minutes of a blowout loss. I was flipping back and forth on that game, and he bad now.
  4. After absorbing alonst 9 centuries of wisdom and knowledge surely this octogenarian knows thatcalling D12's bluff is the move. Howard will sign a max in the offseason.
  5. "dont worry ticketholders, we are getting back an active and productive though unskilled C/PF"
  6. I took the dolphins to win superbowl immediately after the superbowl ended.
  7. You'd entertain trading Deng and Noah for James Harden? I think hes better value than either, obviously. And you cant trade both for him anyway, salaries would have to align. The post is more of a reflection of how much i value the potential of Harden to be an all nba type than an actual "lets trade deng and noah for harden". But yea, Id probably rather have Harden then both of those guys.
  8. I highly doubt they will. At least this year. He's definitely all star caliber. Maybe next season when it becomes time to consider extensions they will entertain that, because he probably deserves a near max deal. Him and rose is the best backcourt I can think of in a long long time.
  9. If OKC makes the determination that Harden is worth more in a trade than on the team, then I would trade either and possibly both.
  10. Id much rather see deng go than Noah. Noah gets you some scoring, great passing, great rebounding, and good d. Deng does most things pretty well but at the 3, is much more easily replaced than getting a solid 5, which is nearly impossible. The only Noah deal id look at right now is for Howard. Deng can be included, because I believe Deng offense (especially his failrly poor offensive production this year) can be replaced rather easily, and the loss of his defensive contributions can be mitigated by the contribution of defense over Noah with the addition of the best defensive force in the league.
  11. So: Howard Boozer Hedo BG7 Rose If we get 'good hedo' thats a prettyy good team. That would really put Thibs' defensive planning to the test. That's a great defender, a pretty good defender, and three absolutely horrific defenders. If that were the starting lineup, I think Taj would get more minutes than Boozer. Because an interior defender has such a greater defensive impact than a perimeter defender, and Howard being among the best ever, I think the defense will be exceptional. We had good defensive teams with Gordon getting 30+ minutes with Skiles and I suspect we would be as good defensively with the above lineup (with taj off the bench, and addition by korvers subtraction) that we would not materially decline defensively. That said, adding a great passer and capable scorer like (an ostensibly motivated) Hedo, an extremely efficient scorer in Dwight, and the return of a long range threat and competant penetrator like Gordon and we have probably the most balanced offensive starting 5 in the NBA. Boozer becomes almost a gameplanning afterthought, and as we know he is a very skilled offensive player. It would also be awesome to see what Howard can do if he didnt have Jameer Nelson and three other 3point happy idiots holding him back. That team would absolutely OWN the glass.
  12. So: Howard Boozer Hedo BG7 Rose If we get 'good hedo' thats a prettyy good team.
  13. Well, they have been in discussions to trade him multiple times in the last year (and they almost did it for Josh McRoberts and a 1st rounder), and the thought is that they are going to lose him this summer. So he's definitely a candidate to get traded, but they will have to get something back that can help them beyond this season to be worth it to them. We dont have anything to give them that would help them beyond this year. Our best bet is to get a guy a bad team wants to just dump because he serves no purpose for them. Like Ben Gordon.
  14. This would be a dream come true.
  15. Im biased I suppose because hes a favorite player and staple of the Buckingham Greens fantasy basketball franchise, but Stack would be perfect. Duncan credited him with being a leader on that Spurs team. Hes able to handle the rock, score, defend, hed be absolutely perfect. Hes generally regarded as a great teammate. Hes pretty much had to score on most teams hes been on, and I think if his volume went down his efficiency would go up and if things get real in a strip club parking hes a good guy to have around.
  16. Occupying two defenders and finding a wide open teammate is a great offensive play. Lebron shouldn't be punished for combining the skills of a scorer with the awareness of a penetrator. He was double teamed. He found a wide open man. Down one at the end of the game that's a great shot to get. If singe is he'll bent on trading rondo hopefully pax takes all our picks and whoever Boston wants. Get rondo here.
  17. Brandon Roy in a wheelchair is better then Keith Bogans. His 3rd to last game featured one of the awesomest 4rth quarters in league history. Id love to give him a chance to contribute in a limited role.
  18. Brandon Roy thinking about coming back? It better be as a Bull.
  19. Lebron made the pass the Deron.
  20. I agree, his resume has everything but a ring, and a last second shot that won that ring. Out of curiousity, if anybody is of the opinion Lebron isnt great with the game on the line, who is? What is playoff game winner resume?
  21. In all seriousness, it's also who was doing the passing. Jordan had 4 rings before he passed to Kerr for the game winner. He'd built up just a bit of fan trust/goodwill by then. There's a belief out there that Lebron can't deliver at the end of games. There was never that belief with MJ. Lebron was 20 and had carried a collection of mediocre role players to the finals. This is basketball, plays are set up to have other options and it was nice that Jordan had the luxury of having his 7th/8th man be one of the best shooters ever whereas Lebron had Boobie wide open on the baseline. Remember when MJ dropped 55 at the garden, he passed the game winner to Bill Wennington, definately just a guy. I understand most people arent smart enough for perspective, and most others are usually too emotional with respect to lebron for some reason to even try. The knocks against him are he passed (at 20) to boobie gibson in a finals they were never gonna win, he gave up on the Cavs in that boston game (where he had a triple double with 30 points and 20 boards), and he passed at the end of an all star game.
  22. If you pass to a guy (kerr) and he hits it you are an unselfish genius (jordan), if he misses (Boobie) you are afraid (Lebron). I guess we just have to live with idiots in control of the narrative. Ive seen Kobe take so many horrendous end of game shots and yet... I guess whatever.
  23. Has the whole world gone crazy? After singlehandedly bringing the East back into the game, Lebron passing to Deron for a wide open 3 is a problem? People are idiots.
  24. Ive been looking for a reasont o hate aaron rodgers for a while now.
  25. So Lin just hookd up a midtown stabbin cabin for 13g a month. His god routine is gonna get challenged big time.
