  1. Stoops will have not taken the ND job twice before he coaches that game.
  2. What OSU opponent is comparable to either Clemson or Miami? Miami will look fairly pedestrian by the end of the season. I dont think Miami is on a different level than Wisconsin. Clemson obviously is the best team on either schedule but beating Mich at the big house and then MSU id say the schedules are comparable (assuming of course they win those games).
  3. FSU's and OSU's schedules will look very comparable at the end of the year. FSU has played one good team and one ok team. Arguably OSU's is stronger. Oregon's schedule is pretty even with OSU's (up to this point) as well.
  4. While I hate OSU and only want bad things to happen to their program its crazy that the spread between Oregon & FSU and OSU in both the coaches and AP is as large as it is. It seems fairly understood, by all the national guys that OSU is behind Oregon and FSU. I think those three teams should be a dead heat behind Bama. Id be shocked is OSU went 13-0 and lost on the cards, i doubt 2 of the other 3 go unbeaten.
  5. Beat them two years ago in tuscaloosa and absolutely should have beat them last year.
  6. I think things are gonna get blown up pretty soon. Bama, Oregon and Baylor despite being double digit favorites have tough games this week. FSU has looked great but I could absolutely see the Gators giving them problems on rivalry week. So with Bama having the tough game this week, a tough road game @ Auburn and then the SECGC, I think its really difficult for them to get through unbeaten. Oregon has to win in palo alto and then the PAC12 title game, Baylor will probably lose 2+ games, and OSU has to win in ann arbor and then beat MSU. There is 10-12 teams who still have a solid shot at getting the the bcs title and a few two loss teams (LSU/USC) have outside shots with 2 losses.
  7. I'm trying not to look ahead, but I'm far more anxious about the South Carolina game. Really hoping Mizzou can hold off the gators because Im going to the USC game. Staying in Jefferson City because there is no room at any inn in Columbia.
  8. UW obviously got screwed however im not sure I agree with the decision to center the kick with 16 seconds left and no time outs. Its a risk and your kicker should be able to hit a 30 yarder from the hash.
  9. Im trying to prove that "ENG" was next to Henman all those years. When the British Open goes off will Rory McIlroy have GBR next to his name on the leaderboad? This is BS. Murray should not have GBR next to his name. If you cant produce a world class male tennis player you just need to deal with it. We certainly do.
  10. What does that mean? I think he might be saying that nobody here realizes it's normal Chicago politics. If he's not...then I have no clue what he might be saying. I don't understand how he could think that, or what nuance has to do with anything, or why the bridge is the only focus. Yeah, me either. I'm thinking Tunney is purely trying to play up to his constituents to be able to tell them that he stood up to the big bad Cubs and did everything he could to be a pain in the ass. I was just rejecting "tunney is the sole bad guy and he is accepting bribes from a couple people who steal from the cubs" as the basis for everything that has gone on for the last 6 months. As far as campaign funds, these campaigns are so granular that the amount of funds he could raise from a few people benefiting from stopping the cubs plans couldnt change the narrative when his seat is up. Right or wrong, Tunney is known by basically everybody as the guy who was bribed to try to destroy the cubs. Either tunney made a horrendous political calculation, or the voters of his ward (because id imagine the legions of recent state school grads who roll in and roll out every Sept 1 dont vote for city council, so lets say voters not residents and constituents) arent comfortable with this stuff. If the latter is true tunney being a pain in the cubs ass is what he should be doing. I dont think its as black and white as people want it to be, thus the lack of nuance of a post like "this is tunney stuffing cash in his pocket nothing more or less" and many others like it. Some people in that area (whether right or wrong and you can make the case that their property values are tied to team and that the amenities they enjoy are the direct result of the increased economic activity due to what the team does for the neighborhood) dont want even more of an amusement park atmosphere in their neighborhood. Imagine living outside soldier field when the thousands of [expletive] head bears fans come rolling in and pee on everything. Thats kinda like what living near wrigley is like for a good portion of the spring-summer. If the prevailing view of the people who elect the councilman want to fight the cubs tooth and nail than i understand what Tunney is doing. Also it seems like papers what to skewer tunney whenever possible and some of the stuff is overblown.
  11. Its incredible that you guys arer so sure that there is zero nuance here and that Tunney is getting kickbacks to stop a pedestrian bridge that harms no one.
  12. Jordan did not play in any finals in the 80's. i said 80s because that was the vintage of the jordan-rules era of hightened physicality. And discussing whether or not lebron would have been effective in the era jordan played in has nothing to do with jordan or when he played in the finals.
  13. And also Lebron's opponents are generally much stronger than Mjs in the 80s.
  14. I dont know what Game Score means but its pretty impressive that roughly half of MJ's finals games were better than that.
  15. Its ok dude, im not taking the fact that MJ didnt play great in every finals appearance as a personal affront. It sucks to have to live with those games in seattle hanging over my head though.
  16. Of course they choked. Saying otherwise is absurd anti-meatbalism that has swung too far in the opposite direction. This is crazy. If ray allen doesnt drill that 3 then the spurs gut out a win a championship. The ball came off the rim like it did and the heatmade the shots when they got the second chance. Lebron missed that first three so bad that good rebounding position became bad rebounding position and Bosh made a nice play to get the board and the ball to ray allen for the game tying three. Two guys going 1-2 from the line down the stretch is not an epic choke job. Compare the likelihood of two guys going 1-2 from the line (which is a probability dead heat with going 2-2) and the unliklihood of what happened on the other end of the floor.
  17. Yes I do. He was 24-11 in the finals. Averaged 34/6/6 with superior efficiency for a high volume guard and won mvp in every appearence. I dont understand your point, if he wasnt invincible in the finals who bested him?
  18. I hope they ops differential the game today!
  19. Yes the common driving distance of a youngish fairly avid player does not map to the course distances. I play from 6300 at the course i play (139 slope at 6300) because (i) i dont think its necessary to play tips unless you are breaking 80 at least half the time and (ii) my playing partners dont play from the back. So because I can hit it 250 with a 5 wood and 280+ with a driver I hit very few iron shots.
  20. Tour. Ive never had anything between pw and 56. I can hit a ¾ pw about 100 yards with reasonable regularity and have only soft considered the gap club. I use 60 out of the greenside sand regardless of lie (just like my hero vijay singh) and primarily use the 56 from 60-90 and to pitch or chip from thicker grass. The gap club would serve the same purpose (id maybe get to take 2-3 more full swings per 5 rounds) but id have to develop the feel.
  21. The 19 degree hybrid, loft equivalent to a 2 iron and I kept my old callaway GB2 3 and 5 woods and the r11 I added 3 years ago, Cleveland 56/60 and a never compromise flat stick. If I made any other upgrades to the bag I might switch to a gap wedge or add another hybrid. I liked the mizunos and I originally got them because I wanted to play a near-blade iron and work the ball on every shot. I'm smarter now and I just want to hit it high and far.
  22. I retired my mp-32s 2-P in favor of rocketballz 4-P (and I never pull 4 iron). Best thing I ever did. Used to hit a low 2 off certain tees and now I hit a 19 degree about 50 yards deeper.
  23. I think the heat are vulnerable in a series against Memphis. Game 3 was a very competitive game that required a night from Norris Cole. Memphis should defend the perimeter ok against the heat and I think have the ability to score on them. The Bulls offense in this series has featured some of the worst possessions ive ever seen in the pro game.
  24. I cant wait to see the second part of those Addidas commercials thats sitting in a can somewhere.
  25. Sure. I think the chairman did as well. Im saying the Bulls didnt do enough to mitigate the PR disaster Rose is in right now, and I think we all can agree its a disaster. Rose is the reason this is happening, however, they should have done a better job shielding him.
