  1. Isn't every scoring play subject to review by the booth? It looked blatantly obvious that he crossed the line.
  2. Closest onside kick ever. Phew.
  3. Have the Broncos ever been called for a holding penalty in the fourth quarter?
  4. Tebow doesn't celebrate that commie Kwanzaa. Say "Merry Christmas."
  5. Oh what the [expletive] ever. That was not roughing.
  6. That was an impressive third down run by Tebow, but I'm pretty sure they just gave him extra yardage.
  7. There's nothing more gangster than a Jesuit school.
  8. I thought I read a few weeks someone predicting that UK would have a letdown game against Indiana.
  9. That's not how it works. Yeah, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. And aside from ludicrously calling Pujols a traitor or acting like he owes something to fans, people are generally okay with him not getting a legacy deal. Pujols was [expletive] amazing in 2008. It was incredible watching him play, but it would've been more incredible watching him in the postseason. Watching old, lumbering 38-year-old Pujols make $25-27 million and hit like a normal guy wouldn't be thrilling. And unless they got extremely lucky in subsequent drafts and [expletive] out valuable players like diarrhea their chances of competing would've been severely compromised because of his contract. That's the reality of being a mid-market team.
  10. He didn't give them a hometown discount; that was the contract he was offered and it's the contract he accepted. He wasn't forced at gunpoint to accept their deal. And it's not missing out on him for $50 million. It's avoiding giving a 32-year-old almost a quarter of the team's budget. No, they aren't. The Cardinals will continue to be a profitable and successful franchise without him. This is ridiculous. "A little extra"? How about saving themselves from paying Pujols $25 million into his late 30s/early 40s? That's something than a little extra. St. Louis is the 25th largest media market, they have likely maximized where they can grow revenue and the owners paid for the stadium. This is not a franchise that can afford legacy contracts. Again, he didn't have to do that. And he sure didn't accept the deal out of the goodness of his heart, either.
  11. My Facebook feed was blowing up with people apoplectic about the whole thing. Everything was mostly along the lines of "YOU SOLD OUT! YOU ONLY DID IT FOR THE MONEY!" Umm, yeah? I dunno. I can't get too upset about it. We saw his best years and got two championships out of it. Now they clear his money and can address multiple needs.
  12. Good, because he definitely wasn't better than Barkley. While I'm on the subject of crimes against USC, isnt there some sort of financial penalty they could face instead of the players being penalized for something that happened when they were high schoolers?
  13. By the time anyone noticed how good he's been, it was too late to jump past the entrenched folks on most ballots, I think. I'm not sure who you'd bump out of the existing 5 to make room for him either, though. If I had a vote I'd pick RG3. How about Honey Badger?
  14. Off topic, but how does Matt Barkley not finish as a finalist for the Heisman? Did USC get sanctioned against their players receiving awards, too?
  15. His system is very odd. I'll give you that. In particular, the audibles and the big dropbacks with a bad offensive line. He's a very stubborn guy. But, maybe his time has passed in the NFL.
  16. Yeah! That guy doesn't know anything.
  17. Oregon-Wisconsin/OKST-Stanford should be promising; the rest should be blech. It will be interesting to see the ratings for LSU-Alabama. Oregon-Auburn drew the largest overnight rating on cable, but was still the fifth-lowest BCS championship. I can't imagine a game that features very little star power, has already been played and was played poorly will draw well. I think it breaks Nebraska-Miami for lowest-rated championship.
  18. Wow that's a good offense. Only Tebow can stop them now.
  19. yeah, it's not his resume that's the issue, it's his ability to piss anyone and everyone off. he's a czar, and if he'd won a super bowl as a head coach, he may have more leeway, like a parcells, but he didn't. Has he rubbed people the wrong way in Chicago? His problem in St. Louis was working for one of the worst ownership groups in professional sports and a team president with no experience in football trying to usurp any power he had.
  20. It was a common belief after Martz was fired by the Rams in '06 that he would be going back to college where he could be as crazy and imaginitive as he wanted. I think he should get another shot in the NFL and would welcome him back to St. Louis in a heartbeat, but I think his reputation has (wrongly) disqualified him from getting another shot.
  21. Sullinger is a black Hansbrough. Man white people are gonna love him.
  22. Vitale likes Northwestern. That was some awful inbounds defense from Duke. Wow.
  23. I know OU is nothing special, but that's another nice win for SLU.
  24. What an amazing job by Tebow to will Novak's kick wide.
  25. Norv Turner is terrible.
